Switching bank

Hello I am always tempted to switch banks for an incentive but often hold back as I'm not sure if I fail their criteria for getting bonus.
Can I check my previous banking history, ie what banks I've been with in the past to then know if I qualify for bonus.

The good news is that you can check your history.

The bad news is that there's no centralised facility to do this for you, so you need to check through your own records yourself, i.e. statements (especially for transfers between accounts), paper or emailed correspondence, cards, old cheque books, etc.  Your credit files may help too:

Ultimately it's up to you to keep records of this as the banks don't tell you this by default. It usually involves trawling through statements from my experience. If you're unable to get the info you need from your own records you could always try submitting DSARs to each bank to ask about their history of paying you switching incentives and they might be able to provide you with something.
