Does anyone know if the Energy Saving Grants website is legit?

After my fusebox went kaboom the guys who came to replace it informed me that my whole house is wired up by the cheapest chips and is horribly out of date.  The cost of rewiring is far out of my budget so I went looking for grants.
The website EnergySavingGrants org popped up but I'm not sure if its legit, I don't want to go giving it my info and end up on a ton of spam lists.

Anyone got any idea?

A lot of these websites are a bit dodgy!
According to the site, they can help with:
    • Energy Company Obligation (ECO) (which is currently in the ECO4 phase)
    • Local Authority Flex Scheme (LA Flex)
    • Great British Insulation Scheme (GBIS)
    • Home Upgrade Grant (HUG)
    • Boiler Upgrade Scheme (BUS)
Now you know the names of the five schemes, you should be able to find their official info on a .gov.uk website and check your eligibility manually?

Perhaps I'm cynical, but I'd be very uncomfortable about giving my date of birth to an organisation that doesn't have an obviously  legitimate need for it; age range perhaps, maybe even the year but never the exact date.
Ditto for any company whose gushing reviews on Trustpilot are exclusively 5-star and often pointedly mention staff by name. The .org domain also seems a bit odd for a UK company, and I can't find them listed at Companies House.

None of those schemes will fund a rewire - You might get a new consumer unit in conjunction with a heat pump, but don't hold your breath.
Some councils used to offer loans for home improvements subject to meeting certain criteria (disabled, elderly, on benefits). I suspect most of these have been withdrawn now.
