Lyca Mobile. Is it worth it?

I wanted a esim for quite a long time now. I’m on Tesco PayG and I can’t get a eSIM from there. I have tried Three and Vodafone and others and I either can’t make an account or even get a txt from Vodafone. I was wondering Lyca. Despite they have no customer service, the rest is pretty good. They have EE coverage, 4G+ is all I need. What do you guys think?

Lycamobile tells nearly 90% of UK staff they could lose their jobs. Telecoms company is loss-making and it is locked in long-running VAT dispute with HMRC

Check if your phone does eSIM first. As for service, you're best looking at what you need, instead of just brand.

If you want unlimited text and calls then O2 is decent. But if you just want a cheap as chips, then ID mobile is not too bad.

EE (Basically BT) isn't too good.

Personally I would avoid Lyca at all costs but if you aren't worried about retaining your current phone number then you haven't a lot to lose.

Given that you are ok with Tesco then you could switch to O2 as they offer esims. Check Uswitch for some decent deals.

How have you tried to source an eSIM from Tesco? I've certainly seen reports that people have had success by approaching staff at Tesco Mobile in-store.

Can use Giffgaff as PAYG, their eSIMs are easily sourced on their site (I swapped a physical to eSIM in about 5 minutes but eSIMs can be ordered at signup).
