Please check my Defence v DCB Legal

Hello,
As above, I have a claim from Vehicle Control Services Limited via DCB Legal that’s now moving forward. I received a Notice of Trial Date in September - the hearing is listed for late November at Clerkenwell and Shoreditch Family Court (the notice came via Bromley County Court).
I’d be grateful for some advice on three points:
- I’ve just been told I need to travel for work that week. How do I apply to change the hearing date? Should I email enquiries@bromley.countycourt.justice.gov.uk (the same address the notice gives for filing hearing documents), or contact the Clerkenwell and Shoreditch court directly?
- The fee for an adjournment seems to be £27. How is this paid — by calling the Clerkenwell and Shoreditch court listed for the hearing? Should I wait for confirmation that the change is possible before paying?
- For evidence: it was actually my partner who was driving, and I have her credit card receipts showing payment for parking. I didn’t mention this in the original defence. Should she provide a short witness statement to accompany the receipt and other evidence I plan to file?
Any guidance appreciated - thank you very much.

Sorry, ignore 2. That's for the claimant to pay!0

Yes... obviously defendants don't pay to defend otherwise the law would be an assss!aorlando said:Sorry, ignore 2. That's for the claimant to pay!
However, it costs a 3 figure fee for ONE party to apply to vacate and change a hearing date but ... it's free if the Claimant agrees.
So email DCB Legal today with the evidence that you are on business that week and give them 14 days to please consent that the hearing date be moved. Be polite!
Bottom line: if you get that appalling female judge at Clerkenwell and Shoreditch and you don't attend the hearing, you WILL LOSE.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

I emailed the court with evidence of my travel and quickly received a letter confirming that an order has been made to relist the hearing for a later date.
One question: do I still need to adhere to the original deadline (10 days before the original hearing) for submitting the witness statement and evidence, or should I wait until I receive the new hearing date?
Thanks!
