Is informing DWP of POA the same as being an Appointee

Being an Appointee has a certain set of stipulations and actions: become-appointee-for-someone-claiming-benefits

Would advising DWP that an LPA is in existence and requesting documents to be shared impose the same obligations and responsiblities?

     Yes you would take responsibility in the same way as an appointee
