Mixing childcare vouchers and tax free childcare in separated couple?

Historically we have been hanging on to the childcare vouchers system to pay towards wraparound care for an 8 and 5 year old - reason being that their other parent is a high earner and was likely to breach the salary max (which did happen a year or 2 ago). I believe that with more than 1 child and high childcare costs that you can get more benefit from tax free childcare, plus staying in the voucher scheme is tying me to my employer (as if I leave I can’t start with another employer). 

It’s likely that we will be separating as a couple so I’ve been trying to find out if 2 parents living separately can claim via the different schemes? I know it’s not possible if you form one household but I can’t seem to find this information about separated parents. Trying to get my ducks in a row and figure out the finances of a split so it would be really helpful to know this!
I would also become eligible for child benefit (not currently) so am trying to do all of the sums that I can to help with budgeting.

You cannot use child care vouchers alongside tax free child care for the same child.

Your child care provider cannot accept both for the same child.

The main carer manages the tax free child care account but the separated  parent can deposit money into it, as can anybody else)  their income is not relevant.

So you can each contribute 50% each month and get the Government  subsidy.
