Change Barclays current account

Hi, 
   Do Barclays allow you to change your existing current account from say a Premier to Standard account ?
  Hopefully retaining the existing account number.
  Can you do it in their banking app ?

They were going to downgrade me a couple of months back, but have since changed their mind (for an unknown reason). In the original letter that I received, it stated that my account number/sort code would remain the same if I was downgraded.

No idea if you can do it in the app, but if you're a premier customer, you can call them directly (without going through the whole verification malarky or menu system), and they will answer your call pretty quickly.

Going back to my first my point, it's a total mystery why they have decided to reverse their decision about downgrading me, as I neither meet the income nor savings threshold for premier. I have £5k in their 5% savings account, and my current account is permanently overdrawn as I make use of the £500 interest free limit.
