Guarantee from Curry’s for a £500 QNED Samsung TV is only 3 months?

Options
Just bought Samsung QNED TV from Curry’s in the shop, to discover, their own guarantee is only for 3 months, any problems after that you have to contact Samsung!
Is this legal? I was always under the impression your contract & guarantee - usually a year, was with the retailer not the supplier? And that if things went wrong with an expensive item like a tv, Martin Lewis always states that unless it was negligence, then you have a claim for longer than a year?

I don't think there's any legal requirements re length of guarantee.
As you say, your contract is with the retailer, not the manufacturer.
If something goes wrong, separate from any guarantee, you have rights under the Consumer Rights Act - https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/reclaim/consumer-rights-refunds-exchange/

    From that link:
DO return it to the store, not the manufacturer If it breaks the SAD FART rules, your agreement's with the shop you bought it from, NOT the manufacturer. So the retailer MUST deal with it – don't let it palm you off.
But that is about consumer rights, not a guarantee.

Warranty on electronics is two years. Not sure if TV's are included. A guarantee is not the same and can be set by the manufacture for as long or short of a period as they like.

Ring as the worst at this. I had a product that was not fit for purpose (a protective film started peeling after 4 years). I went back to Amazon, (the retailer i purchased it from) and they said they would give me 20% of a new one and would not honour my legal rights at all.
