Morning All
Dry this morning and we are promised a fairly bright day for a change.
I'm on day 2 of a first aid course, thought I may die of boredom yesterday, the chap taking it is very boring! I called into work on my way yesterday and my event was going ahead yesterday afternoon, shame I had to miss it but hear it all went well. Thought about calling in on my way home again but decided against it as I would just be clearing up. Had to go for a walk after work as I had been sat all day and needed to stretch my legs.
I feel very lucky that my Dad wasn't a bother when he became ill although I did live 500 miles away so maybe my brother had more problems, deep breath Nanny!
Towel wash went in last night and that is nearly dry with being by the fire, shame as I think they would probably dry outside today.
Hope the little one is ok dp1.
Hugs to those feeling sad or poorly.
Take care. XX15 -
Morning, thanks for the start Gers, and hello aerialgirl.
Wet out. It started raining last night, DH just got in from walking big dog when the heavens opened and I don't think it has stopped all night. The forecast is for rain all day.
Will find some jobs to do indoors although the cupboards are all pretty much tidy. The meal last night turned into an all day breakfast, sausages, egg and bacon, with mushrooms and tomatoes, very filling. Tonight will be kievs with chips for him and a jacket potato for me, with peas and coleslaw.
Nothing much happening otherwise so I'll bid everyone a good day, take care.14 -
Morning all and thanks for the start @Gers x
Got a few errands done yesterday including getting some duplicate keys cut - unfortunately they don’t work so we will have to sort those today. Not cheap at £10 a pop.We are off to the community allotment today for a look around and to meet those involved. Will wear our civvies as garden wear still damp(!)
Dinner last night was swapped to a butternut squash and chilli risotto. Think I overdid the chilli somewhat. Your food sounds lovely @arielgiel 😊 We will have the beef and mushrooms tonight as it takes 3 hours.CoxyCross-stitch WIP: HSC Jingle Bells Fiver Friday challenge 2025 founding member 😊 Read 25 books in 2025 09/25 Currently reading The Vows of Silence by Susan Hill14 -
Made it downstairs and had two boiled eggs for breakfast and now on first coffee. My morning will be spent waiting for the TV dish man to come. I'll do the weekly banking which I forgot about yesterday and potter about. The news from the Somerset area is just horrendous - don't know if we have anyone here from there but hugs to you if you are!13

Morning all
Its been raining all night and it’s meant to continue for most of the week I believe, it’s also quite cold this morning so the heating has gone on for another blast, I have three people coming today so I’m not sure what we are doing as it’s raining but maybe bowling and then a cuppa somewhere, Rob turned up yesterday with no money so I just hope he comes with some today it’s getting expensive for me to keep subbing him. No sign of his mum coming home yet.
Dinner tonight is gammon egg and chips I cooked the gammon yesterday so it will be easier to slice later, we will have a carbonara at some point with the leftover bits.
DD is off today so she will walk the dogs later I think it will be a quick trot around the park as the weather is dismal, it won’t hurt them to have a shorter one for once.
Have good days all and take care xx12 -
Morning folks and thanks GERS. It's a dull and dismal day here with drizzle forecast for the rest of the day. Is this miserable January ever going to end!
Tuesday lunch day with DF today. I hope the miserable weather keeps everyone indoors and then it might be nice and peaceful. I have a few bits to get before I meet her so need to catch the earlier bus down into town. I might get a few little jobs done before I go or, then again, I might not!
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, sad or lonely. NAN I hope you have a stress free day with DDad. I didn't have any stress with my lovely dad as he died suddenly when he was only 67. My DMum was a different story though. She had Parkinsons and Lewy Body dementia, refused to go into a care home, and I was at her beck and call 24 hours a day. How I managed to keep my job I will never know, considering all the times I was bombarded with her phone calls or had to abandon ship and dash off to sort her out.. Take care all and stay safe xx

Morning everyone. It's not raining here for a change.I remember those first aid courses Camelot- hope today is better. No pick up at school today, I refer to Tuesdays as our day off :0. I am meeting my oldest friend this afternoon for a quick coffee & give her her birthday present. She is going to her brothers after, he lost his wife just before Christmas. She is away for 3 weeks at the weekend and as it's a 'special' birthday I didn't want to post it. Not sure where we'll go, quite a few places are shut on a Tuesday round here.I'm having a fish pie I made and froze earlier, and corned beef hash for the menfolk - glad I do a bulk batch cook sometimesI did ok with my drawer emptying and chucking yesterday, the bin is nearly full nowHope Rob brings some money today RRHope people aren't suffering too much with the bad weather, take care all.:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. Morning allIt's going to rain on and off all day here, glad I'm not going out anywhere. Had a good chinwag yesterday catching up with my ex-colleague and colleague who is still working at the establishment. We came to the conclusion that we left just at the right time as it's getting worse and no sign of it getting any better there.Housework done upstairs, coffee drunk. Going to do a quick inventory of the freezers and then some ironing and that's about it.Ruby are the people looking after Rob while his mum's in hospital know about the money situation and as Allie says, how can he access any if he needs to. It's a difficult one.Hope you all keep dry and warm x11
