View Sky F1 via BT TV

BT are offering me a TV package which includes Sky F1.  I believe this comes through NOW TV. Is this the same as watching it on the Sky F1 dedicated channel.  Or do they only cover the main event and not all the pre and post race programmes associated with a F1 weekend ?

Clue's in the name, "dedicated F1 channel".  A dedicated channel wouldn't do the half baked job you describe in the latter part of your post.

That's what I'm trying to establish........whether the BT offering is 'half baked"............any idea?

Well, do BT say something like  'we'll only give you access to Sky F1 if and when there is actually a race taking place' , or are they giving you full time permanent access to the channel. 

Personally I can't imagine that they'd keep starting and stopping access to a particular channel as it'd be far too much like hard work ....they'd either give it to you or not.

Aren’t you asking the wrong question, you presumably want to know if there is a difference watching Sky F1 on Now ,compared to Sky , paying BT to access Now has nothing to do with BT ( as far as content is concerned ) ,
 I would imaging if Sky has some sort of ‘red button’ options ( that gives options to stay  with a particular drivers view etc , that is  not likely to be available with Now , whatever the main Sky F1 channel is outputting is what Now will carry , but ultimately it’s a question for Now , not BT

Yes I did and I saw that. I was just hoping that someone who might be a BT TV forum member would respond who has actual viewing experience of the system.
Also Sky will run the F1 race through their main event, however they mainly cover the actual race, limited pre/post and stream add-ons.  Just wondered if BT TV sports did the same-however that doesn't appear to be the case if you go by the Now TV website info.

You get the full Sky F1 channel via Now, not just Main Event.

Worth noting that when you subscribe to Now through BT/EE TV [YouView powered], as well as getting access to the app you also get access to the relevant channelson your normal EPG.

This is significant because it means you can record/watch from start which is not normally possible on Now.
