British gas extreme delays in sending out invoices

Hi. I hope I am not off-script asking this here. Otherwise not sure where to go.

In December 2024, I had a power flush and system filter fitted to my heating system costing £840. When I booked, the agent was not able to take my credit card details so they said they would send an invoice. Nearly seven weeks on and not only have they not generated an invoice but they cannot even say when this will happen.

I am not one to worry and even though I have made weekly phone calls to chase and weekly emails to customer services with no result. It just makes me wonder why British Gas would take so long for so much money.

Has anyone encountered this situation before or have any idea how long this process can take?

You could always save your effort.  Put £840 into a savings account and then stop chasing them.
If they haven't sent the invoice after 6 years, you can keep the money.
    If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.

When someone owes me money and not paid, they can expect me to chase them, if I owe money and not paid, I expect them to chase me, I'm not doing both.
