Fixing a garden fence due to storm

It must surely depend on the age of fence posts, how decayed, or not, they are and how deep your wallet isIf you are made of money, replace the lot, if cash is short, just replace the broken oneThat is a decision that can only be made on sitePersonally, if the rest of the fence is sound and not wobbling about, leave well aloneEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens2

This may cover the area at my garden sofa it and I was planning on a summer house which could cover the top area? That way I can leave existing posts up0 -

Just wandering how they managed to concrete the posts in if what's in front of them now was there at time of fitting?
Did they remove any boards to secure the post to the rails or have they used long screws to fix fence board and rail to the post?
As the post are flat topped it would be better to fix post caps to help prevent rot

So only a bit of the fence was down the reason they gave was the entire fence would have to be flat and done for them to replace every post on same spot0

The old posts would seem to be a structural part of the fence. New posts have been installed but the old ones will continue to serve a purpose an help the rigidity of the fence. I agree it doesn't look nice.

It looks like your 2 options were rip down and replace with a complete new fence or fit new posts and attach the old fence to them. The actual fence seems to be in not too bad condition but trying to remove the old posts would likely have trashed it. Option 1 loads of £, option 2 not so much but not the prettiest.
