DWP Accessing Joint Bank accounts

Options
A shower thought...

How will having a joint account affect DWP's ability to look at your bank account if person A gets a non-means tested benefit, but person B does not receive any benefits?
How will they know who spent what? Surely they'd need person B's permission as they'd have no need or right to view their information...

If person B refuses then person A claim could be closed
EDIT they would have to have a good reason, like suspecting fraud.

If they are non means tested benefit. Then why would DWP want access to bank account?

For non-means tested benefits they will be looking for things like being out of the country.
