CCA Request Debt from 16 years Ago

Options
Hi, just wondered if anyone had any luck submitting CCA requests for debt as old as this one? Have they managed to dig out Credit agreements so far back? Ive been paying token payments towards this old debt for about 13 years, to around 3-4 different DCA's that its been passed around too, and then read on here about CCA requests so thought i would send one off and see where it got me. Thanks for any feedback.

I would say it's 50/50 whether they could find one or be bothered to reconstruct one.

Not sure luck refers to them finding it or not finding it.

    Anyway what's the downside? None

As long as this is a Consumer Credit debt, use the Act to your advantage

Virgin found a 14 year old one when I asked for mine. It's the luck of the draw really, just wait and see what happens.

Thank you 14 years is a long time. Had that been passed around DCA’s?

Just had a letter to say that the original creditor is unable to comply with the 12 day rule so currently enforceable. They sent my postal order back saying you no longer need to do that. Think thats it and i wont hear from them again?

It also mentions a default, they cant update my credit file with this can they?

It will have been defaulted a long time ago so, no, they can't

The requirement for £1 payment still exists. It was originally 15p

The 12 day thing went a long time ago

Why have they sent the postal order back then?

I presume they can't be arsed to cash it. Save it. You can use it again.

It would be unusual to get a cca within 12 days. I would expect to hear from them again in a few months time, either with a cca or confirmation that they can't provide it (probably worded in a way to try and fool you into thinking you still need to pay it)

PRA sent my £1 cheque back, I'd imagine iy wasn't worth the hassle of banking it. They ought to change that requirement really given that nobody uses cheques or postal orders any more.
