I've been sharing my thoughts with chat GDP for the last few days and trying to design a new app for myself at first and if it does well well then have the ability to upscale for Play store. Anyway, the app was 75% complete with various stages of completion throughout but then for no reason at all. It added an image and then said if I wanted to carry on this conversation I had to pay £18. 99 as only chat GTP 4 does images. I'm sure you can imagine my frustration. I'm not any good at designing tech so have to rely on this sort of thing and now it doesn't seem like it will progressing further. I asked it to remove the image but it will no longer let me ask it questions. It says that I can ask another question in 2 hours time which is fine, but I think I'll get the same answer. I also tried starting a new conversation referring to the old chat and asks for an update on its progression in percentages and it said it was 45% complete. Obviously this was wrong and told it that it had previously told me it was 75% complete. Then it tried changing its reply. Obviously I now have no faith that the two different conversations will have the same outcome, but does anyone know if there is any way of me getting rid of this image and carrying on with the original conversation without paying the money? Or do I wait until the app is complete then pay the money and carry on the conversation for the month before canceling the subscription fee? Unless the app works and is worth carrying on paying this subscription. Thank you for any help. I'm sorry if it sounds that I am being tight or selfish but I am disabled. I have just moved in with a new partner and the only money I receive is on pip and I am trying to think of ways of gaining new income. I've had a good idea and I'm trying to implement it and obviously don't want to lose it but I am really struggling with this and I've just gone out of hospital after a big operation so I am in lots of pain which doesn't help either. I really hope somebody can help me carry on with this original conversation with Chat Gtp as it was going very well or so it seemed and it said they could help me make it into an APK file so I could just download it straight to my phone and try it out before anything else happened. Thank you for any help, I truly appreciate it

Please use paragraphs next time, your post is impossible to read.  I've quoted it and chopped it up.

The first thing I would probably point out is that your idea for an app has probably already been done.  Have you searched the Play Store already?

1. It costs a lot of money, recourses and  time to develop and run  AI chat bots.
The owners are not charities, they do not do it out the goodness of their heart.
The owners are businesses & want profits. lots of it. 

2. Think of the "free version AI chat bot" as a loss leader, to get their version well known attract users.
They draw up limits on how many questions can be asked & limit how much it can be used.
Remember there is no such thing as " A free lunch" someone has to pay for it. 

3. If you want more time and resources than is reserved for the "free version", the owners think customers need to pay to use their more powerful AI. This you have found out for yourself.

4. Remember all the time you are using it, you are  feeding it information from which it is learning.

5.  I do not know what the T&C are for using this "free AI". Have you read them?
For all I know, they may say that,  they can use any of your ideas for themselves and they do not have to pay you anything. 

I am sorry to hear of your difficulties.

I am not sure if it is still the case, but ChatGPT4 used to limit the number of queries over a time period (3-5 hours?) but your post implies that you are trying to create images, you could try different AI image generators.

You want your software to make you some money so you should not be surprised that ChatGPT providers also try to make money from their software? In fact it could be called an investment into your own idea.

I don't think I've explained this well... I don't want any visuals, for no reason at all in a free chat GTP session it created a visual saying this is what your app concept will look like. I never asked for it, I don't want it, nor does it look anything like what I'm trying to create. I just want to know if there is a way to remove the image so I can continue the free conversation. Instead of being told constantly as there. Is an image I need to upgrade to chat gtp4 which I have no use for. I haven't said what the app is for and don't know why anyone would think I wouldn't check rather than waste my time. Which by the way, the app is being created for my sole use to do with my disabilities and if I found it helpful would look once again to see if there were a need for the app in general public. I am sorry my English isn't up to scratch but I never did an English exam growing up so am doing the best I can. All I asked and wanted advice on was if anyone knew how to remove the image so I could continue on my free chat GTP conversation. If anyone could help with this instead of putting down my Grammer or telling me I'm wasting my time I would appreciate the help. I'm struggling enough with my disabilities and just getting out of hospital, Thank you.

Could try using an open source AI model - DeepSeek. 

I can imagine there are many arguments against using a Chinese product - but tell that to the MG car drivers or Alibaba shoppers or Xiaomi phone users.

Again thanks for being sarcastic to the disabled guy innocently asking a question. Yes I could have asked Google but I understand more easily from a humans interpretation. I thought this was meant to be a place where people help each other with straight forward advice. Yet not one person has tried to help me find an answer to my problem. Maybe the reason I'm asking for help with this is because I cannot do it without AI, In particular chat gtp. Maybe what I want to develop is a great idea and will help people like me that struggle, but instead of anyone trying to help remove a picture from the conversation so I could carry on it's just easier to put me down.. thank you all for your kindness. Only just read this thread.

Oh dear you seem to have taken offence when posters are really trying to help.

Surely their point is you are using  free ,( but limited) service  that could have reach that limit of freedom. It is automatic so could have inserted that image to try and get you to now move to a paid version  to progress.

Also pointed out in some respects that a bit of research might tell you if your prospective app is already out there or something similar.

Please take on board the comments rather than reacting to them negatively.

Your aim is laudable and it sounds as if you are in a position to see something useful that maybe others have missed.

That might be because of your personal circumstances but I don't detect any responses about disabilities or even suggesting that is a factor in replies.

There's nothing stopping you continuing the initial conversation, but if you've reached the response time limits then you either need to a) wait for the time limit to expire, or b) pay for the premium version to continue without restrictions.

If you don't want it to generate images for you then you can instruct it to not do so - if you ask it to "please remember that I do not want you to generate images as a part of your responses to my questions" (or something to that effect) then it will make a note of that and will remember to do so in future.

And personally, I'd take anything it says with a big pinch of salt, especially progress questions. In my experience ChatGPT is okay at fairly general non-specific questions, but falls over quite spectacularly when you you try to get into the fine detail, especially for novel concepts that are outside the scope of its training data.
