Siemens central heating controlller
Options
I have a Siemens RDJ10RF wireless thermostat controller. The screen has gone faulty and only showing half of the numbers. I have changed the batteries to the recommended new alkaline ones and it has not changed the display. Anyone know if it can be easily fixed or do I need a new controller. It is about 10 years old. Thanks in advance.

In my experience, half a display means a fault within the device. How are you with a soldering iron? If you choose to take it apart, I'd start by looking at the connector between the display and the PCB.If that's not your cup of tea, I suspect you're going to need a replacement unit.

Hi QrizB.Thanks for your reply. I probably wouldn’t try soldering it as wouldn’t be confident that I will not make it worse without the correct testing equipment. Will be better off replacing it with a new one. Thanks again.0

Hi again QrizB.
Looking to replace the unit with a Siemens RDJ100RF for similar ease of use setting up timer etc.
Would you know if I need to buy the set or just the transmitter if it would be compatible with my existing receiver (as in previous picture). Thanks again.0 -

Just looked online and they do not seem to be available as transmitter only. Have to buy as a set. Thanks again.0

Hi FreeBear. Not too happy to try that so just ordered online to make sure. The unit was probably over 10 years old. Thanks for your help.1

Or the display is delaminating in which case the display needs to come out and be very carefully clamped and heated (results vary)1
