Morning all from a wet and windy Mehefinland
It's ok, I've bounced back from the black dog - just too much to do with the animals to descend into that pit. Teach me to watch music programmes from way back lol.
Listening to the rain lashing my front windows- it was only a light drizzle when I put the horses out. I expect I won't have too much trouble bringing them in later
Some more clothes sorted to go out - there is such a range of sizes as Dawn wasn't one for throwing out stuff! If I had the room I think I would put everything in size ranges and deal with it that way. As it is I am more scattergun approaching, although I have tried to sort by garment type. It will be ok in the end.
Gone quite chilly so I think I might put the heating on for a bit - blow the cost - no point getting ill just to save a few bob.
Hugs and spoons as always

Hello all, it's wet, windy and dark here, we're on another weather warning and you need the light on to do anything. I am in pain this morning but I'll take some painkillers and hopefully work through it.
I did a few chores yesterday then rang Dad in the evening when I cut the call short because of his non stop moaning. I've heard it all before in many similar conversations and I told him I was fed up of hearing it. I don't know what he expects me to do about him being stuck in the house as we've taken him out and so has DD but it seems that's not good enough for him. We go up to visit him, do his shopping and pay all his bills and everyone and his dog has offered for him to go to different clubs or even calling taxis to take him to town but he has always refused everything. 🤷♀️ I'll give him another call tonight and see if the penny has dropped that I'll no longer put up with it. Sorry for ranting again.
Today I have put the dw on and later I need to sort out the bottom of my wardrobe, it looks like the aftermath of a jumble sale again ! The Messy Elf seems to have had a great time in there.
Gers glad to hear you are safe and well.
Hope everyone can get through this bad spell of weather/feeling down. Take care all, hugs to anyone in need.

Morning all
Cold here but no frost we are due more high winds and rain this afternoon so will get the dogs out this morning. Glad to hear Gers is safe and well that’s a relief.
Not too much on today I have some washing on the go which will have to go on the airer in front of the fire. Dinner tonight will be roast pork and all the trimmings I will do enough for a quick dinner tomorrow as well as I am working later again all week.
Mehefin you are doing so well it’s very early days have a hug xx
Have good days all and take care xx9 -
Thanks for the start Scarlet. I think we were all a bit worried about you Gers so pleased to see your post today, fingers crossed you get your power supply back soon.
It's back to dull and wet today and apparently it will be so for most of the week.At least the temperatures will be near normal for the time of year. I didn't get out for my walk yesterday and probably won't today either. I made the chilli as planned and have enough for at least three portions so some of it will be going in the freezer, taking up more space than the original block of mince. No wonder those freezer drawers always seem rammed!
I also made some individual fruit & jelly pots so that's this week's afters sorted. I started to sew up the jumper but got distracted and will try to finish it today. Other than that, it will be a Slothful Sunday.
The post from mehefin yesterday made me realise that I'm doing some things differently now DH isn't here. We always used to have the radio on during the day and now I don't. We used to watch the Bowls Indoor World Championships together on TV and this year I haven't. Are these subconscious decisions or am I just finding a "new" way for me? It may be a bit of both I suppose but I'll not dwell on it.
Hugs aplenty for anyone who needs one, take care and enjoy the day. XBe kind to others and to yourself too.10 -
Another one v pleased to hear Gers is safe and warm ,what a journey ,you were v brave .
was sunnier earlier now v windy and sun gone ,debating hanging washing out .
Quiz last night was excellent and we won again ,twice in two night ,very happy with wine and cash ,but most importantly a good time spent in good company of friends ,beats sitting alone with the tv .
quiet day planned and will tidy some more etc
trying to psych myself up for a tip trip ,not until the weather improves, all the containers air up metal stairs and not sure how safe I will be post new hip .Some operatives will help ,but some just stand and watch you struggle .
might wait until DS comes and he can help me .11 -
Morning allA bit frosty this morning and still feels quite cold outside.Glad your safe Gers and hope not too much damage done to all in the eye of the storm.A bit of faffing around this morning, food delivery, putting breadmaker to work again and prep for dinner. Was hoping for some clear skies to see the combination of stars but looks like it's going to be too cloudy for the rest of the week, shame. DH's telescope will still be under wraps then!Have a good day all and keep warm x8

Good news - I am back in my own wee nest with full power. My stay with Alan was lovely, especially as one of his old friends came for tea so it was a lively and entertaining evening. We both went out to Costco this morning, gosh...it was packed to the rooftops...as I wanted to take the opportunity to buy loo rolls and kitchen roll. After a delicious lunch of home-made soup I noticed that my Alexa app was showing that my living room and bedroom lights were on so I sent a text to the farmer's wife. She said the power came back on last night so I've hoofed it back home. Freezer food seems OK too which is an added bonus. There are so many fallen trees all the way up the nearly 100 miles. The massive one blocking one way out of my road has been sawn up and cleared. The only casualty for me is that my Freesat dish has no signal so no TV. I've messaged the chap who does the dishes though I expect he's snowed under, I can manage with my laptop and iPad. So, the drama is over apart from the new yellow weather warning for Storm Hermina which is already beginning to make its presence felt - I got home in the nick of time. Many thanks for the good wishes, I really appreciate them.14
