Insurance company paid out on conservatory subsidence

Our house was built in 2000 on floating foundations. The conservatory was fitted 2 years later on shallow foundations and subsided 8 years later. The conservatory company were rogue and never filed the paper work for the warranty, the insurance company paid for the conservatory to be underpinned. We have stuck with the same insurance company since, in the last 2 years our premium has increased x6. Can we claim the 'house' has never experienced subsidence to approach other companies or are we locked in with the current provider?

You can move to any insurance provider you want, no need to stick with the same one because you have had a claim.
But you need to answer all questions truthfully.
So if they ask about any subsidence. You have no choice on the answer, given the previous claim.
If you do not, & they find out. Then you are in for a world of pain if they cancel the insurance. As you would then have to declare a cancelled ins policy on ALL types of insurance where that question is asked.Life in the slow lane0
