Personally I'd prioritise getting teeth sorted over nonpriority debts.
I had problems with a tooth that was only sorted out with a root canal filling and a (good quality) crown. It cost a bit but it's 15 years on now and no issues
If it's a one-off problem, just pause the dmp for a bit. But ideally your budget does include something for dentistry and prescriptions1 -
Roughly 18,000 across different cards and loans

Even if I could have a break for a couple of months it would hel0

Please try a local teaching hospital if possible. Then find out how much the extraction will cost. Then tell Payplan you need to halt until that is paid off. You will not be performing at your best until it's sorted. They'll understand. If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0

Non priority means if something more important needs paying, then the debts don`t get paid, its as simple as that.
Creditors are well aware of this fact, all you have to do is say your circumstances have changed and you won`t be able to pay anything for at least 6 months, you will look at the situation again then, that`s all you need do.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. We all feel like failures for different reasons. For you, everything is fixable. Just listen to the good advice you get here, work to a plan and things will come good. First off, you are not alone in this, and you are not failing. You’ve taken action by entering a DMP, which means you are actively working on a solution—that takes courage. It might feel overwhelming now, but this isn’t forever. This is just a chapter, not your whole story.
I think its just about reframing the narrative around DMPs:
1) It's temporary + every payment you make is progress
2) DMPs technically do stop things from getting worse
3) It's a far better option than defaulting
remember you're working your way OUT of debt and not getting deeper into it
Also, most employers don't check credit unless you're applying for a financial role (banking, accounting, etc)
You're not failing, you're just in a tough season, and tough seasons pass.
Hope this helps.

Have you looked at a DRO? (debt relief order) check it out, see if you meet the criteria:
Debt Relief Orders. Eligibility & How To Apply. StepChange
If you don`t qualify, and you can raise £680, there is always bankruptcy.
So you do have options, now although I would not normally recommend bankruptcy for an 18k debt, if it was done for the right reasons, to clear your head, give you piece of mind, get rid of the debt in one go, and give you a fresh start, then you do have that choice.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards.
