Heathrow parking ticket

Hello All. 

I’ve searched through previous posts, but I can’t find anything quite similar to mine, so apologies if I missed it. 

Yesterday I received a letter from “dent recovery plus” creditor: APCOA. 

I pre paid to “Maple Parking Meet and Greet T2”
however after entering car park, I got completely lost - which frankly was down to poor signage. 

I ended up taking a ticket at entrance, and then departed, and because I didn’t pay anything, I had to press the button at the exit. 

I explained what had happened and that I got confused, she said she would cancel the ticket and let me out. 

I then entered a different way, and parked and gave my key to maple parking. 

My letter states this is my 3rd letter, which it is not. First one received today. 

I have proof of my pre paid parking. 

What do I do. 

I’m confused as some say ignore, some say pay. But this was a genuine mistake. 

Please can someone advise me what I should do???
