                    Hi all
Hope this is the right part of the MSE forum and also that MSE is the right forum to post a question like this in at all.
Wednesday just gone I flew overnight from Shanghai to LGW on China Eastern Airlines. I was under the impression that non-Russian/CIS airlines no longer overflew Russian airspace but see the flight route map from the IFE system!
Just wondered if anyone had any idea how they get away with this?

            Thanks Nanook.
As I was writing my question I was wondering whether this might be the case ie airlines from countries NOT on Russia's naughty list (because they haven't criticised the invasion of Ukraine Special Military Operation) are still allowed to overfly it.1

Air India, Cathay Pacific, Philippines etc etc
Philippines is interesting as they have a military pact with the US and if China ever invaded an island, the US would have to declare war on China I think.
Yeah lots of countries haven't enforced flight path restrictions. And the US isn't going to send up jets to stop thousands of flights going over Russia every day.0

Indeed, and witness the pitched battles even today between Philippines / China Coastguard boats over those disputed islands in the South China Sea - www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c4gp46dm49yomark_cycling00 said:Philippines is interesting as they have a military pact with the US and if China ever invaded an island, the US would have to declare war on China I think.0
