Update.Eon have told us they re going after the developers for the money as the bill we received was from before we moved in.The other flats have got a backbill from when we moved In.citizens advice can't help as the account is not in our name.So in limbo at the moment.Eon have told us we should be able to get an energy provider soon as they will switch the building from business to domestic. Not sure how that will work with the debt on the account though.0

Thanks for the update. It sounds cautiously optimistic!

I am just hoping we don't get a backbill from when we moved in.Eon have said the account was in the developers name from before we moved in until last Saturday so they can't charge us they telling us.I don't understand why one of the other flats have got a backbill if that's the case.I ll speak to the other flats later see if they re sorted.1

Seems very disappointing that Citizens Advice can't help. Might be worth trying a different branch, online or vice versa.0

Another update. Trading standards are taking up my case as citizens advice have reffered us to them due to the complex nature of the situation.Spoke to them today so will add another update when I have one.3

It might take a while to sort out, but hopefully it all gets resolved equitably.

This really ought to be a role of Ofgem - to act as a middle man. Ofgem also has a role with Small Business disputesNever pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill0
