Mine is Mansfield.
Each and every time you wonder if they've lost the passbooks, application forms.

Although my Mansfield passbook was "lost in the post" along with the forms they apparently sent. In the end I drove a 200 mile round trip to get it sorted.0 -

Branch Saver took almost as long to open as it was ever possible to pay money in for. I called them to add money before it became a closed issue as per their instructions but their systems were broken and couldn’t take the payment… but they hadn’t told the staff answering the calls that and I was on hold for the payments people before someone came back on to advise of it. They did offer to call me back when it was working… polite, but not good practice to encourage people to give their card details to people who have called them.
Given how long people waited for these accounts, they should have cut the maximum balance rather than making them effectively useless within a couple of months.1 -

I realised I was going to be over my PSA this tax year at the very end of last, so I hurried to close a few accounts early to use up more of my 23/24 allowance.
Monmouthshire and Mansfield both required passbook sent to head office with instructions. Two days later, Monmouthshire returned my book and closure cheque. I contacted Mansfield who confirmed they had received my instructions and they would be processed in due course - I thought 'ah well, it's got to them now, it'll be closed with the date of my letter'.
It took another 10 days for the book to be returned to me - closure date 8th April (i.e. the first working day of the 24/25 tax year). Very annoying. Only a quid or two in interest so not really a huge problem but still.
I would therefore nominate Mansfield as the slowest as well.2
