Does affordable housing impact how quickly a house would sell?

We live on a fairly newish estate (within the last 8 years or so) and thinking about putting our house on the market.
On our estate there are around 6 different house types. We live in a 4 bed detached and feel its worth around £370 ish based on recent sales. Right now there is 1 house for sale on our estate and its the exact same house type as mine. They have it on for £375,000 and has been on the market since October.
I havent put my property on the market yet as wanted to wait for this one to sell so buyers couldnt play us off one another however so far it hasnt sold. Now, there is one big difference between the one for sale and my property. This house is beautiful but is a 4 bed detached property that is right opposite a long row of affordable housing. Now I have nothing against affordable housing at all and spent most of my life in one, but I wondered if this may put off certain buyers.
My property is at the other side of the estate and we are just a row of 3-4 bed detached properties with no affordable housing.
Maybe im over thinking it, but wondered if this is why the property has not sold.

I'd prefer to live near affordable housing than that lived in by the smug middle classes always banging on about house prices....
Best regards to all, regardless of who or what you are.4 -
Probably has nothing to do either it. The house is probably overpriced1

What variety of "affordable" housing, as that covers a wide range of options? Why would buyers be concerned about your neighbours in particular?2

A 4 bed house in amongst 2/3 bed houses will never be worth as much as a 4 bed house in amongst a load of 4 bed houses. This is nothing new. I remember 50 years ago a neighbour complaining that his house should be worth so much more because he has added a couple of bedrooms. It would have been if all his neighbours had done the same.

My thoughts being, the house at the other end of the estate is basically opening their front door to what looks like a car park. All the affordable housing just have 2 spaces side by side covering the width of the house. Where as we open our doors and have beautiful detached houses with all cars being in driveways.user1977 said:What variety of "affordable" housing, as that covers a wide range of options? It feels like im wrong and perhaps it doesnt have a bigger impact as I thought really.0 -
Affordable housing is a meaningless term as it varies from council to council eg social rent housing, shared owbership, 80% market rent etc,
If the distance between houses is significant the more attractive location should win out1
