PayPal DD for switching bonus

Hey!

I'm trying for my first switching bonus with a Starling burner account. T&Cs don't mention regular or minimum DDs, just that they be active.

I connected eBay as a seller account and have a £0.00 DD in my scheduled payments on the banking app. Connected PayPal (using my old account, so it's the second bank account added thereto), and PayPal says that the DD instruction has been accepted, but there's no confirmation thereof in the scheduled payment section of my banking app, and attempts to withdraw money from PayPal to Starling spark an error message (though doing so with my other bank account shows that wouldn't be a DD).

Am I fine to switch now for a bonus, or should I wait for something else to happen, or have I done something wrong/not done something right?

-P

To play it safe I would usually buy something small that I needed anyway with Paypal (on Ebay etc) and wait until I can see the DD payment settled on the current account online banking before issuing the switch instruction.

I don't know if withdrawals from Paypal to your account would happen over DD or faster payments. The initial 1p they put in your account with the 4 digit code is a faster payment.

Just needed to wait a bit and it's not listed in my DD's at £0.00, which I feel ought to suffice? Thank you for the response, and apologies to all and sundry for asking as soon as something wasn't entirely clear, haha

Hopefully it will be OK but if going to the effort of doing a switch I prefer the certainty of seeing a DD payment clear in the old account.

With starling it will be a total burner account. They won't let you open another account again (or at least not for a while). Better off burning an account with a bank that allows you to have multiple accounts and switch one of those.

Been using Chase as my source of dummy accounts for quite a while and so far they haven't cared about what I've been doing. Just make sure you never close down your final account with them, always make sure you have at least 2 accounts open if you intend to switch one of them.
