Can anyone clarify a proof of ID using a P60 with the added letters P60S and P60U can still be used to confirm identity from what I'm reading some people have and some are denied ?

Not sure what a P60S is but it could be argued a P60U is better proof as that would be issued by DWP.

Whilst a P60 would be issued by any one of millions(?) of employers or pension payers

    Example

Can a P60 be used as proof of identity?
HMRC-issued tax notification (NB: employer-issued documents such as P60s are not acceptable) End of year tax deduction certificates.

If you are still receiving taxable ESA or JSA at the end of a tax year, DWP will issue you with a form P60(U) Or P60 (ESA) showing sums paid to you by DWP during the tax year as well as income paid and tax deducted from previous jobs.

This added letters can create a lot of confusion if there's anymore I'm unsure but I know people don't even keep them an bin them on arrival and getting new documents is almost impossible apparently after they're issued.
