Quick update, so lesson learned that they fall under a thing "unregulated credit".All my interaction with clearpay has been obstructive, they are a very non consumer orientated company.Multiple times they have stated all of the following.Cancellations can only be intiated by merchant.Refunds can only be initiated by merchant.A dispute will only go in the customer favour if merchant agrees to it, Clearpay will never go against the merchant.They dont recognise right to cancel legislation.Merchant, wont speak on phone, only receptionist, receptionist advised I email so I had something in writing, which I did, they then did respond agreeing to cancel as they cant fulfil but want 21 working days to process it (sneakily they didnt put order number on the email). Which is a bit over a month. That doesnt seem sound at all.25% was paid as up front, then another 25% every 2 weeks, this would allow clearpay to collect 75% of the money for an order thats not getting fulfilled.
Took it to my bank, who were very supportive and informed me clearpay has been very problematic for customers, they advised me to forward all corrospendance to them and they will deal with them on my behalf moving forward, chargeback has been issued for the upfront payment and a block put up for the future payments.0
