Stay safe and inside everyone if you're in a danger zone - I didn't get an alert on my phone at all yesterday.
Take care. XXSeems that you're not in the red zone: https://www.gov.uk/alerts/current-alerts which is rather odd!Argyll and Bute, City of Edinburgh, Clackmannanshire, Dumfries and Galloway, East Ayrshire, East Dunbartonshire, East Lothian, East Renfrewshire, Falkirk, Fife, Glasgow City, Inverclyde, Midlothian, North Ayrshire, North Lanarkshire, Renfrewshire, Scottish Borders, South Ayrshire, South Lanarkshire, Stirling, West Dunbartonshire and West Lothian
Still, you sound prepared for it. My girl guiding and teaching modes kicked in yesterday so am all ready. Mind you, my car has water, chocolate, nuts, foil blankets etc in and has for years - my friends used to laugh at me until one set broke down without anything.
Wind is ramping up and the curtain rain has started. More coffee whilst I can! Take care everyone.

I'm West Dunbartonshire which is on the list!10

Morning all and thanks for the start @ScarletRibbons x
Good to hear everyone is doing okay so far - love that you are all so prepared. DSis is here working this morning as her internet is not working. She bravely drove through the country lanes - rather her than me!
We have planned a Friday tidy today and will also repot some orchids that need doing. Also need to get a cake for DS2's birthday celebration on Sunday but that may wait until tomorrow.
Annoying about the phone @arielgirl
Well done for going above and beyond for Rob @RedRuby1231 - he is lucky to have you looking out for him x
Sorry about your friend @nannywindow x
Hope all okay with the horses @mehefin x
Keep safe everyone

Morning everyone
I was woken by another alert just after 8am. It's wild here this morning - I'm going to spend the day looking out the window at my shed rocking from side to side! It was damaged in the storm a few years ago when my fence blew down on top of it so I'm hoping it survives today. The fences are all swaying too, living on top of a hill doesn't help!
I've just checked in with DD, they're both fine though little one is still too tired. We're hoping their electricity doesn't go off as little one is still on her feeding pump - it's fully charged and DD will keep it plugged in as much as she can.
Stay safe everyone today x13 -
Good morning all. Last night's rain has finally stopped and now we have strong gusty winds that are expected to last for the best part of the day in our amber area. Thankfully, I don't have to venture out for anything but will be thinking of those who do, especially in the red areas.
Yesterday when I emptied the vacuum cleaner I found a blockage that turned out to be a trainer sock! It must have been one of DS's from when he was staying here. I'm the only one who uses the vac and I have no idea of how it got there!
Today I'll be doing the Friday admin stuff and there's a bit shredding to do, other than that plans are fluid.
Take care all, stay safe and warm. Hugs where needed or wanted. XBe kind to others and to yourself too.10 -
Hi all
I'm fortunate this time as the wind seems to be quite a bit further North although it is quite 'fresh' with some pretty big gusts. The horses are ok at the moment - they do get a bit upset in the windy conditions , but they were more bothered by the torrential showers we had here yesterday. In the morning Scoobymare was not too keen to go out, and stood in her stable just looking for a while. I was mucking out one of the others when she whinnied, and with that the other two came storming in and straight into where she was. Lots of squealing and then all three went out apace and proceeded to do zoomies around the field, kicking out and bucking and making a general mess. I was having kittens as 3 in one stable is a very dangerous thing, but they sorted themselves out eventually.
Other than that it was a day and evening of meetings, and a disastrous attempt at making scones which I will gloss over ( details can be found on the decluttering thread lol).
Just tried to book a green waste collection for Monday next which was declined as they " put the schedule for Monday's collections together on the Friday previous". What a load of "$*%.
Stay safe (especially those of you in the Red zone). Hugs and spoons as always.

@Camelot - that's even more weird. Can you check your settings? To turn on emergency alerts on an Android phone, open your phone's Settings, navigate to Notifications, then select Wireless emergency alerts and ensure the toggle is turned on; you can also choose which types of alerts you want to receive within this setting.Key points:
- Access settings: Go to your phone's Settings.
- Find notification settings: Tap on "Notifications".
- Select emergency alerts: Choose "Wireless emergency alerts".
- Enable alerts: Toggle the switch to turn on the desired alert types.

Morning all, my laptop didn't want to play ball this morning and said no to everything so it took me ages to get on.
I managed to get Dad's shopping up to him yesterday by dodging the heavy showers and it's been very windy all night. I helped him to take off his scatter cushion covers and wash them as he had thrown a pot noodle over them. He was very confused and tottery yesterday, mind you I wasn't much better as I thought it was Friday and couldn't seem to remember it wasn't !! I'm still a bit discombobulated today too.
The sun is out now and it's still windy but we have a red warning for flooding later. I hope everyone stays safe and well in the storm, we seem to have missed the worst of it.
There's nothing specific pending for today but there's always something that can be done around the house. Tea is yet to be decided but we're back on the diets so it will have to be small portions as they seem to have grown in size again. Yesterday tea was a small baked potato with cheese.
Hope all the little ones are well/ get better soon. Stay safe everyone, especially if you have to go out. Hugs to anyone in need.
nan xxFailure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently9 -
