Hi, now back.
It's wet and windy out there, I've just looked at the Met office forecast and we have a yellow and an amber warning.
We are supposed to be visiting an elderly friend this morning, probably won't go.
Thank you for the good wishes for my eye op, I don't think I'll have to wait long from what the nurse said. I have waited nearly a year from the referral to the appointment, but that's the way it is these days.
Yesterday I wasn't out at all, I sorted out my fabric cupboard and ended up with a carrier bag of bits that I won' t use so they can go to the library for their crafting sessions.
Ruby, poor Rob must be so bewildered, it's a good thing he has you in hi life.
Good to hear from you Nanny, sorry to hear about your friend who has had a cancer diagnosis, hope she can come to terms with it once the first shock is over.
Thinking of our poorly and sad people and those in red warning areas, take care folks.

Morning all
Well it’s windy here and we’re only in a yellow so I’m really thinking about those that have it worse especially the red zone folk. Please do take care.Van is going for a service so will drop that at 9 and DDa will pick me up mid morning when I’ve had a wander in town. Will attempt a walk though Bdog hates wind - he’ll be out in rain snow and mud but not wind!Stay safe

Morning all - thanks for starting us off @Scarlet.After my exercise session I busied myself in the house preparing for the storm. All the warnings are very scary, especially the blooming emergency alert. Last night all was calm until just after midnight when the wind started. It woke me up because of a very loud banging, I think that when my neighbour climbed in my loft last week he may not have secured the hatch quite firmly enough. During the rest of the night the wind direction changed and the banging stopped. Now the raging has started and it's quite eerie. I hope that everyone can keep safe, warm and dry today. Take great care.14

Good morning
Wet and windy, but not as bad as it is for people in the red area.
Need to sort out the bathroom cupboard today after DH having a look in there for shower gel he didn't have. Other than that may pop out for some shopping, but if not I'm sure we'll manage.
Ruby, glad Rob is sweet smelling, you really do go over and beyond. Hope he gets to visit his mum.
Thinking of all our friends in the eye of the storm, hope you stay safe and there's not too much damage. Hugs to all who need them. Take care.14 -
Windy here. Woke up at 5.30. Our bedroom is in the roof so very noisy. I waited until the heating came on at 6 then came down and made tea. Nothing special on today so I will stay in and try to finish my book for book club .
Hope everyone in the red and amber zones stay safe15 -
Good morning
Thank you for the start @ScarletRibbons
Didn't get to sleep until 4 am. I kept listening to the storm, haven't been outside so fingers crossed there's no damage.
Nothing planned for today, just keep safe indoors. Might tidy a drawer or two in the kitchen.
Take careIf you walk at night no-one will see you cry.14 -
Morning folks and thanks SCARLET. As expected wet and windy here in the amber area but they say the rain will ease for us but not so the wind! I am going nowhere but the wind really unsettles me after being affected by roof damage twice in past years and I am expecting the ridge tiles or slates clattering down again! So far the only casualty I can see is the bird bath in the back garden toppled over.
My dental palate got to fit eventually yesterday after much trial and error and drilling adjustments. I feel so much better now I don't have the gap caused by Haribo damage!
Well I suppose I ought to make a start on the Friday Tidy but maybe another coffee first! I am as prepared as can be here in case of power cuts today. Have a safe day folks and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, sad or lonely. take care all xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"12 -
Morning All
The wind is certainly blowing here and set to get worse. I've filled a couple of flasks that are sat on the radiator, found torches and candles, had a long hot shower and put the washing in just in case we lose power later. I was woken up at 6.30 as the bedroom window was open slightly and the wind was making a terrible noise. I have a mixed feeling of fear and excitement!
I must log on to the work computer to see what's going on, I'm sure the HT will have sent a few emails for stuff to be getting on with - kind of hoping the internet goes down soon!
Hope you get your appointment quickly Scarlet.
Thinking of you Mehefin with the horses in this weather.
Batten down the hatches has a definite meaning for you Gers!
Well done Ruby, you're a star, Rob's Mum must be glad you're looking after him.
Stay safe and inside everyone if you're in a danger zone - I didn't get an alert on my phone at all yesterday.
Take care. XX
