Support For My Dad

Options
Hello,

I am looking for some advice for my dad as we are quite worried that his money will be stopped, my dad is on job seekers, but due to his health he can't do a physical job, but the job centre told him that he needs to be looking for a job.

We found that he could some surveys online/play games and get paid for it, so he earnt £63 and we told Job centre about it, he put it on his journal as he thought that was where he had to put it, he's now been shown that he needs to do it on report a change but we are now anxious about it, as it didn't ask about how much he earnt, just when he started. He probably isn't going to earn much else as it's not a business that he has set up, he just found a website where you test a game and get paid.

The job centre has said that he needs to put on his report each month about how much he earned and that he will have monthly meetings and they can't be missed. We are anxious that his money will be stopped, we are already going through a rough time as his pip stopped last year and we are still currently waiting on a court date for this. I am currently paying for all the bills and can't afford my dad losing his Job Centre or it being messed up.

I would seriously consider going to Citizen's Advice for support if he hasn't done so already.  They can help him with the PIP review as well as with other benefits that he may be entitled to.

Is his health so bad that his GP may be able to provide a medical certificate (Fit Note)?  I know and accept that the role of DWP is to get people back into work, but the reality is that somebody with major health issues isn't going to be top of the list for employment.  That is assuming they can find anybody taking people on currently.  On UC the expectation seems to be for people to spend 35 hours a week filling out job applications.
