Have Danske agreed to your application to put the mortgage into your sole name?  Has to be a new mortgage as your ex has to be formally removed. 

Yes they have verbal agreed, have done affordability check etc. 

I'm not sure what their usual procedure is for transfers of equity, but presumably they at some point issue written instructions to their (i.e. your) solicitor to act for them in the variation of the mortgage? Talk to the bank anyway, I presume all that's happening is they're not chatting to a third party about your account without your authority.

I've looked at the 250 page list of approved firms. My solicitor is on there.

A question for your solicitor then. Why won't  Danske write to them. 

They claim it's not their policy!! The people on the phone who ove spoken to haven't been helpful 

Sounds as if there is miscommunication somewhere.
