If you can help me with a quick question....

does anyone know what price I should be paying for the following....

Broadband (300mbps or higher speed) + Sky Sports + TNT Sports.

I do not want any other channels, only the sports channels.

Has anyone else got a similar package to this and what are you paying?

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

If you want to hear me me waffle on about my experience of trying to renew my 'deal'...

I am currently paying £100 a month for those sports channels + broadband with BT, my contract ends in June....

Yes - I have looked online for the 'deals' they offer, but everything confuses me. Yes - I have phoned EE / BT and they just messed me about and gave me an awful 'deal' that they claimed was £80 a month - I took the deal....I get an email breaking down the costs...It was £80 for 3 months only and then jumping to £120 per month for the rest of the 24 month term. They did not tell me this on the phone...so I had to phone up again today and cancel.

I am seeing deals for all the main sports channels + broadband for £80 on comparison sites, but when I click on the link to the deal it goes to a webpage error. The websites of Sky and EE are a mess, too much going on, too much nonsense....I just need to know the price of Sports + broadband, but I never seem to get to the page I need no matter on what button I press on these websites...they end up taking me round in circles - probably on purpose to annoy people so that they phone up and then they scam you into signing up to an awful deal.

I'm sure some peolpe pay less but I pay £86 a month to BT for broadband with all the bells and whistles (wifi guaranteed for every room etc) and for what used to be BT Sport, rebranded to TNT sports and supplied through the Discovery + app which means you can get anthng else that Discovery + delivers (e.g. last year's Olympics). You can add on Sky Sports for another £25 - £30 but I prefer to do that through Now TV - I pay £22 a month currently for all Sky Sports channels and "Boost" which allows two simultaneous users and gives you HD - so appox £108 in total.

Oh, and the BT deal includes a "BT TV box" which allows recording of most channels

Don’t know where you get your info from , on the BT site , 500Mb broadband and ‘Big Sport’ is £80 , however it is subject to the annual price increase which is something like £3 for broadband and £2 for the TV sports , so goes up by £5 in March to £85 then ‘up £5 to £90 in March 2026  but most major providers put their prices up yearly these days

Thanks for this. I didn't look at the BT website. Without waffling on I contacted BT about my mobile and ended up getting sold a EE broadband, PAYG mobile and TV package 'deal'.... which would have been ~£80 a month for 3 months, then £120 a month....

It turns out there is this deal on the BT website that you have mentioned which is £82 a month excluding the PAYG mobile...but the PAYG mobile I was signing up to was just £10 a month....so all in this would be £92 a month for mobile broadband and TV....

Proving the guy I spoke to tried to rip me off.

I don't really know what BT / EE are doing - it's confusing. They use BT and EE branding, the TV app to access their sports channels is called Discovery+, their sports channels are called TNT Sports. There's too many different names!

On the EE website I only see BIG SPORT advertised with a basic broadband package deal, of which would be too slow.

Anyway. I cancelled this 'deal' I got scammed into going with...I am back on my old BT contract until June. I am now going to switch to a GiffGaff rolling mobile contract, and a couple of months before June I will contact BT/EE and make sure they actually give me a ~£80 deal for decent broadband + BIG SPORT.

First of all, you could get yourself a Firestick for a one off cost of £40.

Then a subscription to Sky Sports on Now TV would be £35 a month and Discovery+ for TNT would be £30 a month. You can watch both of these on your Firestick.

When it comes to broadband, it depends where you live. You should look at MSE broadband checker to see what's available: https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/compare-broadband-deals/

Do you need 300mbps? Very few people need those speeds unless they play Xbox or PlayStation online. If you're just streaming TV, 100mbps is more than sufficient.

In any case, all that should come in under £100 per month.

I recently paid for a monthly BT\ TNT sports but even though I cancelled it after one month , on my account it keeps on been add a further month even though no further payments have been taken . I have contacted Bt sports customer services who assured me would be cancelled 24/01/25 but now showing again 24/02/25 .will I have to contact them again or will I be liable if do nothing . Thanks in advance.
