I Cannot Get a Job

Hello,
I have sent out at least 50 applications since December and I haven't gotten a job yet. I have also failed 3 interviews. What gives?
Could someone analyze my CV and cover letter and give me a second opinion?

If sharing your cv it needs anonymising as per MSE rules on sharing personal detailsCousin_Creditor said:Hello,

what type of roles are you applying for. Do you have relevant qualifications?0 -
This is only January, you have sent out these CV,s while businesses have had at least bank holidays, some would shut for longer so I’d not write off all the applications yet. Are you applying for actual positions or just sending out cv,s? Are you managing the info on the CV’s to suit the role you are applying for or just sending out the same one?1

Have you asked for feedback from the interviews you did get?

Three interviews out of 50 applications isn't terrible and would suggest to me that your CV isn't the worst.
Perhaps think more about the interviews?
Have you got a friend who you could talk to who would offer some honest advice?
Perhaps consider agency work in the meantime?
They can likely offer work with a less arduous application process and might even be able to help with interview coaching?

It could be down to the particular field - is it very niche and/or competitive?
High skilled, low skilled - are you looking/expecting for something very particular and unachievable with regards to pay, hours etc
Could be worth considering looking at a wider range of jobs0 -
I would say that in fifty applications and three interviews is about right for the current employment climate and as others have said, unless you have skills which are in high demand applying over December is likely to make the process even slower.
I would say that fifty applications over a month is not that many, 5-10 a day should be the target if you are not looking at senior roles and if you are looking at senior roles then you should be using recruitment agents as well.0 -
Did you follow up on this: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6575463/worried-new-job-start#latest
Having read this https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6575069/journey-north-to-debt-free-and-become-a-saver#latest and your admission about your attendance record and conduct at your last job, maybe you could re-read that post and take some steps to help improve matters for yourself - be it medical help, voluntary work or anything which might serve to both give you a purpose and potentially some sort of reference? If you're in a downward spiral it's hard to get out of it, but you really don't have to go it alone.Googling on your question might have been both quicker and easier, if you're only after simple facts rather than opinions!2 -
The jobs market is very tough, I've just finally been offered job after being made redundant in September, nobody is finding work within a month at present unfortunately so don't panic if it takes a few months. I was achieving about 4 interviews a month.0

I have tried to get feedback on the few interviews I got. I am afraid in 2025, it tends to be an automated email that you have been rejected, and the matter is closed.TELLIT01 said:Have you asked for feedback from the interviews you did get?
I say this from experience after over 100 applications.

I have found this too. The employers state there are too many applicants to give feedback and leave it at that. So no way of addressing your failures for the next interviewdebtslave2024 said:
