Dark and dank start to the day though a bright day could be on the horizon. Until the weekend that is!@Chrisca - you can start the daily thread off if you want, in fact, anyone can and please feel free too. After clearing out the hall box an shoe rack I felt rather pleased with myself
not that it was a difficult or even long job, I just kept putting it off and then feeling guilty.
My cleaner is coming this morning, I do treasure him and his work, so I've tidied the coffee table which seems the focal point of unnecessary bits and bobs. Apart from that all is ship-shape. Even my car interior is free of stuff being 'stored' awaiting a drop off. It's also my nail appointment morning, have an early one this time so I can get on with my day. No idea what that will be yet but I'm free to do it.Hugs to all, good to see some missing friends back, and especially to our poorlies.10 -
Good morning all.
Just getting light but raining, no fog though. Yesterday in a burst of energy I claimed all the windows inside. It's amazing how grubby they were, although they didn't look it. We can see our now lol.
Nothing planned for today, will just see what the day brings. I was gifted 2 tins of coconut milk yesterday which I haven't got a clue what to do with. I know you can put it in soup, but we're not big soup eaters, also curry, but Mr Fusspot wouldn't want that, so a bit of googling methinks.
Have a good day all and hugs to our poorlies. Take care.11 -
Morning folks and thanks GERS. Another drab and miserable day in store, with the added bonus of fog. I am already dreading Friday with the predicted gales. I hate the wind and the damage it can do.
Well it's a long time since I said this but it's bus trip day again! It's been on hold for far too long since my bus buddy tripped over her threshold and fractured her pelvic bone. She is still in pain but she says it's nowhere near as bad as it was.. She's still using her stick so we will be able to prop each other up! It will doubtless be Skipton again and we are wondering if we will have a new menu to browse after our prolonged absence. There will be much catching up to be done over our bottle of wine.
DD called in yesterday bearing gifts! Well ys bargain gifts actually so it's a good job I have been getting freezer stocks down! Two gammon joints for £2 each and 2 ready meals of Cauliflower cheese. I usually make my own but at 40p each they will save a job.
Have a good day folks if you can, despite the weather. ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, sad or lonely. My fingers are crossed for NAN's appointment. Take care all, be safe xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"11 -
Morning all
Its a bit dark and dismal here and feels cold too, I am going to collect Rob this morning but he is not going to work as the kitchen is having some maintenance done today so we will pop in and do some shopping and then come home, I might ask the sw if we can go and visit his mum this afternoon which will set his mind at rest a bit.
Im going to jacket potatoes for dinner tonight I can put them in the oven and leave them while I take Rob home, because I’m having him for longer days this week I’m having to rearrange my afternoons / early evenings, I will be even later tonight as I have to drop him home. I’m not sure if I am having him Friday this week but I should find out soon.
Dd is working a late shift today so just OH and I here for dinner. I am taking mum shopping today as well so I shall have my hands full 😬
Have good days all and take care xx12 -

Morning! Dull and grey here too. Just had a wood delivery so there's that to be stacked. Walls to sand under the stairs today and maybe even get round ot starting painting. I made pancakes last night [ or crepes] to use as canneloni instead of pasta because I have loads of milk to use up so I'm filling them with bechamel and prosciutto/mortadella and parmesan later on. And I have kimchi to make. I bought some at the weekend for a tea at a friends house and it was disgusting. I bought some beetroot one as wel because i thought it sounded nice.Wrong...It was even worse,I had tospit it out. And not cheap either. Watching next door move his car off and on his drive again reminds me I need some petrol too
In my vantage point of the sofa I can see him step out from his house ,walk to the end of the front of his drive, look down to his sons house and come back in again several times a day. He also puts a blanket on his engine in cold weather under the bonnet which I must admit, I find hilarious.
Ruby, fngers crossed for you for the rest of the week, and hope Rob does get to see his mother. Gers, there are so many jobs like that here, well done for being an inspo[see me down with the yoof speak] remmie, you can use it for rice pudding? TA,happy trip and lunch out and here's to stuffed freezers! Nanny, hope the docs visit goes OK today. snoozer, hope you're better! Izzy, hope it's not too brass with you
Allie,a weather station? Sounds exciting! pics? Take care all, wrap up,poodles on the alert!

Morning everyone
Back to a hard frost here this morning with fog as well.
I'm not at work today so I'll go down to mam and dads for a cuppa and then for some shopping. I've managed without a Tesco delivery since just before Christmas but I'll need one next week as I'm starting to get low on some heavier items like washing powder and sugar.
Then I've arranged to go into town with my friend who lives over the road for a hot chocolate and a natter, expect there will be a cake too!
I've arranged a collection from one of our charity shops next week so I'm busy having a clear out. I remembered to ask eldest DD to check the contents of a suitcase under the bed when she was home at Christmas, it's all to go apart from a couple of items she took out.
Little one has been off school the last couple of days, she's been sleeping for 15 hours a night and wakes up still feeling tired and she hasn't been eating, so DD has put her back on her feed. She rang our GP practise
to speak to a doctor - who told her she wasn't a paediatrician, little one was under the care of specialists and no she wouldn't see her! Fair enough she's complicated, but she can still have 'normal' childhood illnesses and bugs and DD just wanted some reassurance. I've told her to send in a complaint.
Right best get on
Redruby I hope you can take Rob to visit his mum today, he must be feeling very confused.
Hope everyone has a good day x9
