My sofa is sinking at one end after less than a year. The company say that it’s “normal settlement”. How can that be so?

Because that end is sat on much more than the other?granny472 said:My sofa is sinking at one end after less than a year. The company say that it’s “normal settlement”. How can that be so?
If that's not the case, it suggests a fault but if you've had it more than six months, the company can place the onus on you to show that it's faulty.1 -

As it's over 6 months it's down to you to show that the sinking isn't normal and sofa is faulty.granny472 said:My sofa is sinking at one end after less than a year. The company say that it’s “normal settlement”. How can that be so?
Let's Be Careful Out There1 -
Surely a sofa should last longer than 6month before this happens? My last suite…also a leather recliner was 15 years old and was still as firm as the day it was purchased.0

It should, but that doesn't alter your consumer rights and the rights the retailer has. If the retailer asks you to demonstrate that the problem is in the design/manufacturer and isn't a result of the way you use it, that's what you'll have to do to get a resolution.granny472 said:Surely a sofa should last longer than 6month before this happens?
