Finally i received the PDF bank statement showing the transfer of funds on Monday morning.

However, I don’t know whether or not this is suffice.  I’ve got the estate accounts, copy of the Will and Grant of Probate, bank statements, P60s and payslips a copy of my passport and birth certificate to send to my third solicitor.  Is that more than enough to prove who I am and where the funds have come from?

We have no idea, send it to your solicitor and see what they say. There are no standard rules.

She also states that she has to pay capital gains but has not heard from HMRC whether or not she has to.
How can the estate accounts be finalised then?

Did the estate accounts document this potential liability?
  • All she did was left approximately £16k so that she could pay back HMRC if there was CGT to be paid.

The estate accounts do mention this but does not include the amount.

But there are rules for AML, and that’s my query because I was never asked to help with the sale of the bungalow either.  I’ve left them to give them to call me back tomorrow.  I do hope this copy statement proves that the funds were legitimate because otherwise I’ll have to cancel the house purchase and I don’t want to do this.

In very general terms, yes. But none that spell out exactly how far back the solicitors need to go, whether they need to look at x or y, etc.
