I've just received a fine and had my appeal refused for stopping to let my other half climb on board the car. I had just paid £84 for 6 days parking in long stay and she was struggling to walk from the terminal in wind and rain to the bottom of long stay. I had driven 20 yards through the exit ticket barrier and stopped for 15 seconds at the entrance to another area of parking (i didn't stop on red lines).
It was the Sunday 26/1 of storm Eowyn (red weather warning) and we were one of few planes able to land. To add insult we were returning from my mother in laws funeral two days earlier.
Pretty !!!!!! off that they provide no bus to far end of car park, "danger to life" weather, receipt for parking moments earlier and personal circumstances meant my other half was pretty fragile. I sent all this info with photos to appeal, but turned it down.
I don't want to pay on principle.0 -

please start a new thread ,preferably with a new username as you are in danger of shooting yourself in the foot (good job you probably have two feet)From the Plain Language Commission:

No need for a new thread. There's no 'fine'. You should have just ignored VCS if this was in Belfast. Do that from now on.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Is there any benefit to engaging with them other than entertainment? I received one of these and would like to see what evidence has led to it, and to !!!!!! them off as much as possible along with it.0

Just checking in if any of the previous posters have had any update on their fine since Janaury?
My wife received once of these fines from VCS last week for dropping someone off in the wrong area, it wasn't her driving - wish they'd know about the free 10 minutes in the long stay
Should these still be ignored? Do VCS ever take anyone to court over these in NI?0 -
