Hi
I want to replace my conservatory roof with a flat roof and lantern.
I've had different advice from 2 builders.
One said it's fine to replace existing roof and retain windows.
Another said I need to demolish it and have brick pillars in each corner and new windows.
Any advice or experience pls.

Without knowing the construction of the existing conservatory and the proposed new roof it's impossible to say which is right. Both may be if they are proposing different roof construction.

It's an old style polycarbonate/perspex panels.diveunderthebonnet said:What type of roof does it have at the moment?0 -
What about your foundations?0

As said depends on the roof construction but i cant imagine a solid roof with lantern could be supported by the window frames alone.0
