Flat roof on conservatory

Hi
I want to replace my conservatory roof with a flat roof and lantern.
I've had different advice from 2 builders.
One said it's fine to replace existing roof and retain windows.
Another said I need to demolish it and have brick pillars in each corner and new windows.
Any advice or experience pls.

Without knowing the construction of the existing conservatory and the proposed new roof it's impossible to say which is right. Both may be if they are proposing different roof construction.

As said depends on the roof construction but i cant imagine a solid roof with lantern could be supported by the window frames alone.0
