Smell in Shower

Recently when showering have noticed a fishy smell after water running. Tried cleaning the shower drain and shower enclosure but its still there. It does go off next day before showering again. I think now that it is coming from behind the electrical shower unit?
Any thoughts ideas or have you had the same.
Thanks

It might be worth getting the shower unit checked by an electrician (unless you're able/confident enough to take a look yourself). Daft as it may sound, a fishy smell can be a result of electrical components/insulation overheating. If you do decide to take a look yourself, make sure you kill the power to the shower unit at the consumer unit before you start doing anything. But if there is anything overheating, more often than not there will be some fairly obvious tell-tale signs.1
