Argos Delivery for NY Eve

Hello All - a bit of a moan wondered what everyone thought and any suggestions on what action to take:
Last week ordered on line a Wii bundle from Argos - the only option to get this item was home delivery which I took. Selected the delivery date of 31st (yesterday) the usual Argos time of 7am to 6pm. So hubby was up for 7am, as previous Argos deliveries have arrived at our house really early. Well time went on and on 6 pm came and went - no delivery so no birthday pressie for me!
Hubby phoned Argos this morning who told him although the times were confirmed by email as 7-6, at some point in the previous week Argos decided that delivery on NY eve would be between 7am and 2pm - so if your item was not delivered by 2pm unlucky. So they did refund the delivery charge, and the item should be here tomorrow - but what about the people who had tomorrow booked for delivery - do they get their stuff first then will they sort NYeve deliveries - what if these are not delivered by 6? I hope you get the picutre. So last night and today are spoiled and another day waiting in.
Advice - what action could we do to take this further.
Ok Moan over - a VERY HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL!!!

If you want to take it further, you need to decide what you want from Argos
- an apology in writing?
- a voucher as a gesture of goodwill?
- something else

Hiya, bad luck with your delivery. This does happen with deliverys from time to time and people taking time off work to be in. I don't think there is much we customers can do  . You phoned and excepted the free postage as compansation. Route 2 would have been to cancel and get a refund.
Happy New Year.If winter comes, can spring be far behind?
Spring begins on 21st March.0 -
Thanks for the replies - I think I will take it further see if they will do something as a jesture of goodwill - What really was annoying was they happily gave the date and time at point of order then at some point changed what they were doing - maybe a choice to of had the item delivered on the Friday might of been nice - not just leave people very disappointed and think that ok.
So would you suggest a letter or an email? I thought maybe a recorded delivery letter?0 -
your delivery time will most likely be the same time as it would have been.
the couriers have a set delivery area so will try to follow as linear a course as they can to save backtracking and 'dead' driving0
