Hi everyone,
I have succumbed to another bug and am coughing and sneezing like nobody's business. It's my Esther day and I foresee lots of TV today, I don't usually switch it on for her.
Laura is recovering well and worked yesterday although she still needs to be driven there. Thanks to those who sent their good wishes.
Nanny, fingers crossed they get to the bottom of things . I hope your appointment goes well hopefully the fact they have made you wait means it isn't too concerning.
Derek, healing vibes for Showman.
Dp1, they keep you on your toes don't they.
Have a good day.11 -
Morning from Mehefinland
There's a big yellowish thing in the sky. Thick fog overnight and its just about clearing now.
Showman is fully recovered and looks like butter wouldn't melt this morning. Thanks to all who were asking. Just wait for the bill now - the only advantage in having an emergency call out is that they can't take payment at the time. I certainly don't intend to be carting cash or cards to the field in the morning! Or late at night; which is when these things usually seem to happen.
Quick dash to the library and then who knows today.
Hugs and spoons as always
Mehefin aka Derek

Morning all. Today's weather looks set to be a rinse and repeat of yesterday - dull and grey with light rain and no chance of sun. It's feeling like a very long month.
Yesterday was more productive than at the weekend. I made scones and did some general cleaning to keep on top of things. I also cleaned the glass panes in the door between the living room and hallway, something that often gets neglected. I'm calling it early Spring cleaning! I avoided the news yesterday, for obvious reasons, and suspect today may well be the same.
Apparently there is emergency water work happening on our "top" road and the bus that runs along there is being diverted until Friday. It's now coming past our house - no stops though, so no use to me - and yesterday was it was chaos at school drop off and pick up times. Parking is bad enough at the best of times for residents who have cars. Heaven knows what it will be like when the bin men come!
Today's plans are to return the books I've read and call in the Co-op for milk and whatever else I might need. I'll also start to change the net curtains upstairs. I say "start" because I like to clean the windows and frames before the clean ones go up and I know they'll not all get done in one day. I'm no spring chicken any more.
@Coxy11 - I don't know yet what our Homebase is going to be, I'm hoping for a Wilko or Range store. The last time I was in there just before Xmas the shelves were already looking quite depleted.
@snoozer - Oh dear, it seems like you've caught the bug. Take it easy if you can and look after yourself. No easy task with little ones around though.
@nannywindow - Good luck for tomorrow's GP appointment.
Have a good day whatever you're planning and take care. Healing thoughts for the Poodles and hugs for anyone needing or wanting one. XBe kind to others and to yourself too.12 -
Apologies all - I probably wasn't too clear about my wee hotel stay, it's not until late February. It's a birthday treat to myself. A couple of years ago I took off to Skye, now I'm going the other way. I'll store all the good wishes for then.Well, I did the overhaul of shoes and the contents of the hall box. Two pairs of shoes in the bin (including the slip ons) and two pairs now in the textile skip at the dump. I took away rubbish and the shoes, handed over a home-made bobble hat to the CS as there was a space right outside it when I drove past.@Snoozer - keep hydrated, it's the only way.@Coxy - the HBase in Oban is going to be a B&M (or maybe a Home Bargains, can't remember)@Mehefin - good old vet!@Chrisca - my mum used a pumice stone too. I did a search about what happens to it all, one reply said that it goes to the road construction industry.@Ruby - hope that all is well with Rob and he's not too disturbed by his Mum's illness and absence.11

Morning all, many thanks for all your kindness.
Yesterday I got everything done plus the spare room was put back to normal except the day bed, which has been left made up. DD called here in the evening bearing some shepherds pie for our tea today, she had made it from scratch and only she ate any. What ! her family don't know what they are missing ! 🤷♀️ It was going to be a flying visit but she stayed quite a while and it was lovely to spend time with her on her own as she normally has both DGC in tow checking out nanny's biscuit/cake tins 🤣
This morning I have put away the washing because it was dry, now I must check all food stocks so I can do an online shop. I've started a book but it's hard going maybe I'll give it another go or I might start a new jigsaw which I had at xmas.
Hugs to anyone in need, hope you can all have a good day,
Take care all

Morning all! No sun again today but I did see a little bit peeking for a minute or two yesterday afternoon. Under the stairs is half boarded now, just two more bits to cut and screw and it's done. I need to sand the filler and paint next but it does look better already. It's got both meters in there so it's never going to be a great storage space no matter that I can squeeze in quite a lot, I'm trying to empty it a bit and have what's in there accessible. I really hate moving something to get to something else so it's time to be ruthless. OH went to the docs yesterday. he's had mouth ulcers and flaky skin on his hands for a few weeks, they think it's to do with an infection but no idea what kind of infection...He's got to get himself some cream today for his hands. But at least he eventually went to the docs...[where's that rolling eyeball emoji?] Today I am attempting to use the wood that won't burn in advance of a delivery tomorrow. It's already not burning very well, so I've gone to find more kindling to try and build up some hot coals.Ruby, it's very good of you to look after him above and beyond even if the extra will come in handy. Nanny, hope today is a better day. snozer, uh oh...the lurgy is no fun, hope it's a very quick and mild version. derek, good to know showman is better. Gers, I love a bit of history too, one day I might even make it to Pompei, looks so interesting. TA, have a nice lunch out..Allie, it's so annoying isn't it, I mean I know people get fed up and grumpy but if you're going to be dealing with other people, suck it up and put on a face. [unless pushed to it of course
] Coxy, your knitting nattering seems to be growing
Take care all, stay warm, it's a fuh fuh fuh fuh fuh cold one today.......
