Good morning , thanks for starting Gers, we cross posted sgain!
Hi Arielgirl, nice to 'meet' you.
Nanny, I'm glad to see you posting again, I'm hoping you're on the up - sorry to hear things aren't going well for Mr Fixit. Hope his Dr can work out what's going on.
I see you're decluttering TA, I too tend to start going through bags if they aren't taken to the chazzer fairly quickly. Mad isn't it. Though I was quite pleased with myself the other day, I was tidying the plastic container cupboard, there's always plenty of scope for tidying there. I realised that some of the containers hadn't been used for ages, so into a cs bag they went, and the cupboard looks much better.
Hope everyone has a good day, thinking of those who are sad/poorly. Take care folks.

Morning. Thanks Gers and Scarlet for the start
Gers - have a lovely tripIt’s another foggy day here. Work was a bit chaotic yesterday, not helped by an unhelpful member of staff being rude to another person. Hopefully it’ll be calmer today.
Managed to get a few things done and some appointments made so a few things off the list. Not sure I’ll be as productive today as I feel weary.Hope everyone had a good day

Thanks @Scarlet - annoying, isn't it? Great minds and all that!My whimsical booking of a wee hotel break yesterday cheered me up. These long days of inactivity and darkness really drain me. Even though the place is not far away it'll be refreshing. Before coming downstairs I've folded and put away the washing and stashed the airer. This morning I want to clear out my 'glove' box and shoes. There are some pairs I've not worn for a long time, including one pair of slip on Hotters which I used a lot after my hip op in 2019. Think I'm saving them for the next one but they do need to be at least somewhere else.Last night I was fascinated by a programme about the uncovering of a huge house complex in Pompeii. I hadn't realised how deep the volcanic ash is. This hardened ash is called pumice, now I wonder what happens to the enormous amounts brought out by the skipful. Sometimes my mind goes off into all sorts of rabbit holes!I'll do a quick dive into town later for a couple of things, my fridge and freezer are still keeping me going though I'm aware of the yellow wind warning for later on this week.Take care everyone, no hasty movements! Hugs all round.13

Morning allBrrr frosty out there this morning.Nothing planned today but I might do a bit of draw and cupboard tidying, not too taxing!@Gers all that pumice stone will be used in umpteen bathrooms to rub off hard skin in the bath!
My nan used to have one in her bathroom
Kitchen smelt lovely yesterday with freshly baked bread. Will have some of the cheese and bacon loaf for lunch todayHope everyone keeps warm and safe today x11 -
Good mornin.
Still dark but dry outside. Yesterday it rained all afternoon, which wasn't forecast.
As the weather was so gloomy (and so was I), I decided to venture out and get the bread needed. Struck lucky as also picked up 2 half price fruit loaves (DH's favourite). Will try to shoehorn one into the freezer today.
Just the usual chores to do today. Roll on the better weather, hopefully my posts will be more interesting.
Have a good day all whatever you're doing, hugs to our poorlies. Take care.12 -
Morning all
Feels very cold here I have put the heating on for an hour or so to warm the house through, yesterday passed in another blur of phone calls, Robs mum was hoping to be out today but the SW thinks she won’t be as she can’t weight bear at all they have asked me to have Rob for extra hours this week to help out so I am having him till 5 every day, if she is still in Friday then I will offer to have him then as well the extra money will come in handy.
Only two coming today as one of my people is sick I think we are going to a local nature reserve for a walk around the brooks there is a little cafe there to get a cuppa afterwards, Rob arrived with no money yesterday so I had to pay for him so I’m hoping to get that back today.
Dinner tonight will be the beef casserole I made the other day I just need to pop it in the oven later and warm up some part baked rolls, dd is working a late shift so only OH and I here for dinner.
I need to hoover through and have a quick tidy before my guests come.
Have good days all and take care xx12 -
Morning folks and thanks GERS for the kick off. Another dull and dismal day forecast here, with a bit of drizzle thrown in. Yesterday at one point it looked as though the sun was trying to come out but, sadly, it didn't try hard enough and back in it went.
I watched the Pompeii prog too GERS but, after visiting Pompeii going on 20 years ago, I am addicted to watching all the excavations that have taken place since then. Unfortunately I don't remember anyone mentioning what happened to all the pumice!
All being well I am meeting DF again for lunch and we are just hoping it isn't as manic as last Tuesday! If it's going to be a regular thing we are going to have to find somewhere else. We like to be able to hear each other speak!
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, sad or lonely. Take care all, stay safe xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"14 -
Morning all, thanks Gers & Scarlet.Enjoy your break Gers, lovely down that peninsula.Derek- hope Showman is ok today.Didnt get on yesterday. I caught the bus into town to take my library books back.DH rang and said he'd pick me up if I went to the pastie shop! So the menfolk scoffed theirs and I had scrambled eggI'm waiting for a T delivery.Good to see you back Nan, you have a lot to think about (((hugs)))Tea will be something from the delivery. Take care all.:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)11

Morning all.
We had some sunshine here yesterday so DH and I cut back the rest of the brambles and filled our green bin again!
DH is shortly off to do a bit of short notice child care as the childminder has a case of chicken pox and is closed for a couple of days. That's prompted me to contact the GP Surgery and request a shingles jab so will see when they get back to me.
I'll take my library books back this morning and then potter. Stir fry with prawns for dinner; haven't had that for ages.
Best wishes everyone and hugs for the poodles12 -
Morning all and thanks for the start @Gers and @ScarletRibbons x
We looked at bathroom suites yesterday morning then popped to H0mebase for some solar lights for the garden. Ours will become The R@NGL at some point - very low stock but got some lanterns which look nice. I went to Knit and Knatter in the afternoon - 6 of us this time. The additional two consisted of a jolly lady who made conversation and a miserable lady who just kept moaning about health issues and politics 😳It’s my original WI tonight and DH has a dental check up so I will drop him off then go meet a friend for dinner. DH going onwards to London to meet an ex-work colleague. We will reconvene at 9:30pm for the drive home.May do some tidying in the garden today as it looks quite mild out there.Hope Rob’s Mum is well enough to come home soon @RedRuby1231. Good that you can flex to have him whilst this is going on x
