Memorandum of Sale from estate agent

I’d be grateful for any advice. If an estate agent issues a Memorandum of Sale with the person's shortened name rather than full name will it cause a problem? Their solicitor knows their full name.
Thanks.

No, it won't cause a problem.  The memorandum of sale isn't a legal document at all and often have mistakes on them.  It will be the responsibility of the solicitors for both parties to check the ID and make sure the contract/transfer matches the spelling provided in the ID documents.

Shortened names aren’t particularly uncommon on Memos of sale - neither are spelling mistakes on names, names missing and all sorts of other errors. The initial letters between the solicitors will set the names out clearly, and any confusion that is still apparent come the time the transfer is drafted gets ironed out then anyway.
