    There is one final option that hasn't been aired yet.
    Reducing heat loss means you don't need bigger radiators. However, fitting new double/triple glazed windows and/or wall & floor insulation is costly and disruptive (extra loft insulation is cheap and offers the best return for the cost). That said, better insulation will save money regardless of the source of heating.
    Oh, and plugging all those nasty cold draughts is both cheap and effective.

  • Yes there is room for improvement in our loft insulation, and I love that it’s simple and easy for a layperson to do. I can’t see myself ever flexing my knowledge about heating hardware - so I’m encourage by any and all tips. Thanks
