Red / brown dust in bathroom

I appreciate this is a long shot, but I thought it worth a try.
Our bathroom was refitted during the pandemic and all ok.
Just recently we have noticed that everything is getting coated with a red dust. At first we thought it was the building work going on outside and closed the window. This didn't help, but the building work is completed and it is still occurring. It's on the first floor. It has recessed lighting and I can't see any gaps, they have light lids over them in the loft. There is an extractor fan into the ceiling and again i can't see any gaps.
walls and ceiling are plastered, there is wood paneling and a dressing room with doors on the cupboards.
The problem seems to be general across the whole bathroom. I can't see it is more in one place and narrow the source that way.
We wipe the shelves, ledges, bath and so on every couple of days and it is back within a couple of days.
Just at a bit of a loss and don't know who to discuss it with really.
Many thanks for any thoughts.

A quick look on the web suggests red brown dust can indicate dry rot.0

Wood panelling on exterior walls is a common place for dry rot. It often produces more spores when it's dying or stressed.0

Is it on any other sils on that side of the house? Building work somewhere nearby covers everything in dust - it could be brick dust for example. But if it's not I'd be thinking it's probably a mould of some sort1

Thanks for the replies. Not what I expected, but thanks.
Externally, the walls are rendered and the windows are upvc.
a reasonably large floor area, and there are no concentrated areas of dust, it is quite general.
I have a builder / carpenter who is coming to fix some units in the next few weeks and he has experience of working on barns so I think I'll ask him.
Once again thanks0 -
Not sure if photos help. Appreciate you can't see the dust though

Could it be coming from your blinds, UV might be degrading them.1

Bathroom mould can take the appearance of pink dust. What's the humidity level in there. You may need to check the extractor is working and open the window for a few mins after a shower0

Mr Nick, when the dust next appears, and you presumably wipe a finger along a surface to show it's there, could we have a close-up pic, please?
And, what colour is your tasty woodwork?!0 -
Thanks for the replies.
Although the bathroom door is generally left open it makes sense about the window and extractor. The window was closed because of the building work outside but we'll try opening it again.
i will also have a look at the blinds. They have been up for years.
TIW - if the problem persists, I'l post some pictures of the dust.
The paint is F & B Sfiffkey Blue. Thanks for the compliment - my wife's choice2
