Tiler advice - PLEASE HELP!

Hmm, there is a 'problem' - the tiles do not line up with (some of) the units. I'm not sure it helps the OP to effectively be told they are misguided or are seeing things?Having said that, I suspect - in this case - the tiler chose the best layout, where such an unavoidable discrepancy (the walls are 'out') was positioned where it was least noticeable. For instance, you'd normally only notice such a minor deviation when approaching a large visible floor area, say as when you are walking towards - or entering into - a room. Once in, you'd only notice such as thing if either 'looking' for it (and, yes, once seen it's harder to ignore), or when staring right down at the floor, as in the bird's-eye view of the island (that's the only pic that 'shows' it to me).I think we all agree that the tiling looks fab and the OP has a lovely kitchen, and I hope they can stop 'staring' at the floor in a way that isn't natural! I also hope the tiler can explain their decision, and the OP understands that it was best.I'd still love to know whether the island unit can be tweaked very slightly...0

jcb208 said:Sorry been in the building trade all my life and just cant see what is wrongThis is the only place where I am aware of it, to any 'significant' degree, from this side of the screen - these two yellow lines are identical:I know this isn't accurate, tho', as the pic is not exactly straight or central.Personally - unlike the situation on the other thread... - I would be happy with this, given it was presumably the 'best' overall outcome. But, I'd like to have been told beforehand of any potential issues, and given the chance to discuss and agree the options. In effect, I'd have sat down with a wee whisky, and talked it over with myself. Then, there should be no room for disappointment, or argument.0

If the tiler really did set out from the door threshold, it would have been obvious very quickly that every one of the unit lines was completely out. Real shame, as it looks like a nice job apart from that.
I don't know why you would do anything else but align with the units in that situation - in other cases I can appreciate there being multiple options, but not here. IMO the tiler has screwed up here - they would even have cut around the units at a slight angle, which makes it even more crazy.0
