Are there any other tax deductables other than Gift Aid for Basic Rate PAYE?

Hi
I am in the process of organising some charity payments.
I am an employee and paye tax through PAYE. Basic Rate.
I understand I can choose the Gift Aid option for the UK charities. I've just been reading around on the subject and several articles discuss other possible tax deductibles. Would any of them apply to me or are they all for higher rate tax payers, self-employed, etc.? Or to put it another way, aside from Gift Aid is there anything else I can consider or do regarding tax when making donations?
I always tie myself up a bit with over information on things like this!
Thanks for any help

Not sure what you are reading but there is no 'tax deductibles' for basic rate or higher rate taxpayers. Higher rate taxpayers have their basic rate band extended so they benefit more but it's still not a tax deduction in the true sense.1

Perhaps I misunderstood and/or perhaps I used the wrong term.
But in a sense, would Gift Aid itself not be seen as a tax deduction/deductible? You are deducting the money from your tax liability (but just doing it after the fact, so in effect a refund claimed by the charity on your behalf)?
Semantics aside, is Gift Aid the only applicable thing when it comes to charity donations and tax?
Many thanks for your help0 -

The 'other options' which may be confusing you may be:
GAYE (Give As You Earn), which is giving direct from your payroll, if your employer supports it, and
charity 'accounts', where you put money into an 'umbrella' account and then disburse to charity from that.
But generally, Gift Aid works 'best' from the charity end, IME.Signature removed for peace of mind0
