Morning all
It's meant to stay dry all day here so I'll put my washing on the line.
Our trip to the library with the nursery children went well yesterday, they especially loved sitting upstairs on a double decker bus. I was shattered last night after being at work from just after 9, it's days like that when Long Covid really kicks in and I realise no I really can't work a full day.
Little one had an appointment with her consultant yesterday, she had loads of blood taken, some for genetic testing - the last time she had these done, nothing came up but it was a few years ago and he said there's advances all the time so it's worth doing them. He was happy with her having just the tube into her stomach so she doesn't need an operation to get a longer one back into her intestines, not yet anyways. It's just a month since her last anaesthetic, so he didn't want her to have another one so soon.
So I need to pop out soon for a few things, and then I'm not sure about the rest of today - I expect little one will be here at some point, probably for a sleepover.
Hope everyone has a good day and also that Rob and his mum are ok x

Morning all from a dull mehefinland
I'm with Suffolksue with the nothing days-seem to be having a spate of them this week.
Need to get horse food later, but will wait until the farmer's market has cleared out. They use half of the carpark at the feed merchants and it gets chaotic. Have to gird up my loins and take some stuff in to the charity shop too at the other end of the town. Parking is a nightmare at the best of times, and there is a no stopping bit outside the shop, so I have quite a walk laden down like a little donkey
My enthusiasm from the beginning of the week has evaporated - probably as a result of sorting through Dawn's clothes. Sometimes it is harder to let go than you think it will be if you get my meaning.
My new LED light fittings are absolutely 'brilliant', the difference is amazing! And in best MSE fashion they are cheaper to run.( we won't mention the cost of the fittings--Ahem!). Another thing off my list of to do.
Cwtches to the poodles. Hugs and spoons as always

Morning all. It's looking a bit murky outside and we're supposed to have sunny intervals later - if they're anything like yesterday's there won't be any! At least it's dry though.
Yesterday I got done what needed to be done around the house, including a towels wash that went in the TD and finished off overnight on the airer. After that I seemed to come to a halt as I felt really tired and a bit "flat" so I downed tools and finished reading a book - The Lesson of Her Death by Jefferey Deaver, a psychological thriller. I've already started another one - Camino Winds by John Grisham - and will soon have that one finished too as it rattles along at a fair pace. I knew those "borrows" from The Little Free Library would come in handy!
I've defrosted a large chicken breast that I'll have with mushrooms in a creamy sauce - half tonight with pasta and the other half on Monday with a jacket potato and veg. I'm getting a bit short on fresh fruit so that will start off my next shopping list. There's also a small carton of single cream to use up that's earmarked for lemon posset desserts. Other than that, I've nothing specific planned for the weekend.
@RedRuby1231 - That must have been a shock for all concerned, it's a good job you were there.
@dp1 - So pleased to hear LO's consultant appointment went well.
@mehefin - My new table lamp has 2 LED bulbs and they're certainly a lot brighter than I thought they would be! I think there should have been a warning on the box to close your eyes when you turn it on!
Have a good weekend whatever you're doing, usual hugs where needed or wanted. XBe kind to others and to yourself too.12 -

Morning all
Dry here but not very warm, I have a towel load in the wash but it will have to go on the airer in front of the fire later and be finished off in the TD tomorrow.
Yesterday passed in a blur of phone calls the upshot is that Robs mum was taken into Hospital yesterday evening, I had so many phone calls it all got a bit confusing! She could not weight bear at all and was in a lot of pain they were worried about her getting sepsis so thought it best she went in she also has ulcers on her legs which she had had for years and they were worried they would get more infected, I was unable to have Rob here as I am not registered for overnight so they have got carers in the house for him 24 hrs until Monday and they will try and get him somewhere else then, I spoke to Robs mum and she was hoping to be out Monday but I doubt it very much, Rob is here Monday as they wanted to keep everything as normal as possible for him. She had refused to go in all day until the paramedics turned up and insisted they she needed to, it’s the best place for her and I hope she gets the help she desperately needs, she is a tiny lady must be a size 4 if that, with bad legs which weep all the time, and little things like her toenails need cutting etc so I hope they can help her, thanks for all the good wishes.
Dinner tonight will be curry and rice cooked by OH so a night off from cooking for me.
Have good days all and take care xx10 -
Oh Ruby, that doesn't sound good. I know you said she's very stubborn but she's going to need lots of help, if only for Rob's sake. My late DF had really bad leg ulcers that were so weepy the District Nurses used to come in twice a day, every day, to change the dressings. The Community Matron arranged for him to see a chiropodist who did home visits - I wonder if that's an option for her?Be kind to others and to yourself too.6
