Thank you so much for sharing this, it sounds like such a horrible position for you to have been in, and a credit to your strength to do something so positive for her, all while feeling the devastation 💙weenancyinAmerica said:It is gut-renching to let go of your pet. I had the same problem - a husky my roommate had brought home then never cared for. So I suddenly had a husky but I couldn't walk her and she had no play time with other dogs. After a couple of hard years, trying to decide what was best for her, my sister found someone who had just lost one of their huskies. We arranged for my dog to get to know his dogs over a couple of months. I could see how well she got along and how well she enjoyed going for walks, going to the dog park, playing with other huskies. All things I couldn't do for her. It was great sadness that I let her go, but I knew it would be much better for her. Her new person is able to send me pictures occasionally and I can see she is happy now. But I still have moments that tear at my heart when I think of her. I wish you all the best and sending (((hugs))).Debt as of Nov 25

Yesterday's meet up for a potential adopter went ok, although I radically underestimated the temperature and spent 3 hours in the freezing cold with no gloves, coat or hat - my lips and hands were actually blue...!
I think the potential adopters may not be the right home, as they're looking for a pal for their current disabled dog, and my girl is more dog tolerant, than dog loving. It did seem that the facilitating person for this, may be able to offer some respite care, though. I'm considering how to approach this from a cost perspective, but the idea of getting a week here and there with some time where I don't have disabled dog duties would be great.
Arranged three DD's (Prime, Spotify and my SIM only plan) to switch to Chase, then, when they're active, I'm going to do the switch to Lloyds to get the £200.
I send off two Vinted parcels last week, only for £2 and £3 each, but sent the wrong items to the buyers, do'h! So I've covered the cost of the return postage (just under £6) and will then re-send them...so I've actually ended up in the negative for trying to earn some money...what an irony.

Ah puffintail thats just a learning curve when having several things on at the same time, can pretty much guarantee you won't do it again and it worked out fine this time with buyers cooperating so not too bad.
Hope the respite works out

Is your prime annual or monthly? The reason I ask is because I have just been through this with my sister. Her bank switch failed because we thought prime was a DD but it wasn’t - it’s a CPA.

Not much to update today. I took the car for an MOT (£50) which it passed, albeit I needed alignment doing (£40). I already knew that I needed to go back in Jan/Feb for front discs and pads. I also had the Tax to pay (only £35).
What I loved, was, for the very first time, having money in pots for the MOT, Tax and repairs/maintenance. I need to replenish them now, of course, but what a wonderful feeling to know I had the money available and intended for these purposes. An extra win to be in that position at this time in the month. It wasn't too long ago that I was completely relying on selling personal possessions to scrape me through the month and/or in my overdraft for any unexpected (or even expected) expenses. I'm really pleased for that small win ☺️Debt as of Nov 25

lovely post to read puffintail, it truly is a liberating feeling and instead of leading to a downward spiral these things become just 'something that happens' each year, no drama

Patch testing for contact dermatitis this week, with appointments on Monday, Wednesday and, finally Friday. No adverse reactions to any of the 70 allergens they tested, so far, which would align with my belief (since all the allergy-style health problems I've had since June 2024) that it's more likely autoimmune related, possibly MCAS, but I've been continually told I have to wait for this investigation, first...here's hoping I get a referral to immunology, after my final appointment on Friday 🤞🏻
Hospital parking costs are, as we all know, high. I've managed to time it so I get to the hospital as near to the appointment time as possible, and be as efficient during the appointments as possible/as is within my control. So I've kept each of the two visits so far under an hour (£3.80 parking charge...the lowest).
It does mean that I've needed to take a bit out of the savings pots, but at least it's that, not putting it on credit.
I'm ready to do the bank switch from Chase to Lloyds for the £200 bonus, I'm waiting for the 3 direct debits to go out of Chase, which should be by the first week of December, then I'll start the switch.
Pay day on Friday, I mostly look forward to that for being able to add to my savings pots.
I've had my Zopa complaint allocated to an investigator now at the FOS, so that's both First Direct and Zopa complaints actively in process for investigation, now. I don't expect to hear much for at least the next 3-6 months.
I found another couple of bits to sell on eBay. All gradual steps...Debt as of Nov 25

Baby steps
I hope the hospital stuff goes okay x
I hate hospital parking costs, we went through IVF to get our lil girl here. We paid thousands and thousands for rounds of NHS IVF. But yet still also had to pay a fortune for parking. In the early days we used to park in a near by housing estate and walk over but as my o/h got bigger this wasnt possible.
Random question who do you have the savings pots with?
Try vinted re the bits you have to sell, i have sold all sorts on there.1
