Received email from Gladstones with heading in email as ‘letter before claim’ but this wasn’t anywhere on the actual letter attached.
it also says, ‘Our team is ready to try to work with you to resolve this matter without the need for Court proceedings and it is important you contact us upon receipt of this letter.’
I’m all for going to court. The whole situation is so messed up. I can private message with more details..

But what do I do now? Is this not actually the letter before claim in which I have to get my statement together?
Side note - can Gladstones or UKCPM sell my data?
I’ve asked for a SAR from UKCPM but they’ve asked for an electricity bill - safe todo so?

Defo can't sell your data (against GDPR) - nor can they sell the debt either....any action can only be from UK CPM.
I've not heard of an email being sent before with a LbC on it...What was the title of the actual attached letter? timescales to pay etc?

You do not want a response to your SAR.
When it comes to a court claim, you are better off not knowing the detail if it isn't on the Claim Form.3 -
Hey Keith,
but if I’ve asked, and they’ve asked for ID, then if I don’t send it.. does that not defeat the purpose/put me in a bad position for not replying?
I also thought a SAR was exactly what someone needed for situations like this?
Sorry if I haven’t responded properly to your reply - I’m new to this0 -
No don't bother.1

The emailed letter is a LBC if it says so. I think you are muddling the two stages up. A LBC isn't a Claim Form.
Maybe the original paper version has been sent to your old address?
Anyway, respond as per the second post of the NEWBIES thread. It's a template LBC reply; please don't copy & paste it here for checking.

remember an email address is NOT valid service unless you say and agree it is.3

Yes I agree but we've seen this before: my thought process was that Gladstones have emailed AND likely posted a paper LBC to an old address.
Hence why the OP has only got the email.
If they do nothing, a claim will go to the same old address.
Easiest way to sort that out with one email is just to copy the LBC reply in the NEWBIES thread which sorts out any possible 'old address' problem.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

long story short, the landlord tried to cancel this (as she had authority to cancel tickets/invoices/whatever), as I should never have got it in first place - parking sign said register car with company (which I have proof for which I attended the class/business), but the business didn’t register me!
So for the landlord to do that she needed me to give confirmation of it, but also because I was silly and phoned Gladstones (not having a clue what it was about originally!**), however UKCPM and Gladstones sent us both in circles - saying it was up to the other to cancel** So they did just email me rather than send via letter, which I’m not fussed about tbh. Gets to me in real time so I’m updated, I guess and it’s an old email.

But do Gladstones hold an old address for you? It makes no sense. They never just email a LBC.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
